It’s a really poor league, we’re really not that much worse than Hull. They’ve just been a bit more solid so have been able to turn draws into wins and losses into draws.
There’s not one team I look at and fear playing. That’s not to say we’re brilliant, it’s just everyone is pretty evenly matched. If we win against the posh then we’re almost certainly getting in the play-offs.
Looking at other top 6 clubs fan forums, nobody seems to rate us. They’re all preoccupied worrying about each other. We go into the playoffs simultaneously being the inform side and the underdogs.
I don't think it's surprising they don't rate us. Our worst 2 performances of the season were probably at Hull and at home to Blackpool, we played Lincoln away before we signed most of the team (we were still robbed), Sunderland lose every game because they were bad rather than the opposition were good (well that's what their fans say) and our only TV game we were totally out played by Accrington.
I honestly don't think there is a team in this league with a better squad than us but at the same time wouldn't expect more than a couple of our players to be up for discussion for a league 1 "all stars" team either.
A farmer and his son had a beloved horse who helped the family earn a living. One day, the horse ran away and their neighbours exclaimed, “Goodbye horse, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
A few days later, the horse returned home, leading a few wild horses back to the farm as well. The neighbours shouted out, “Your horse has returned, and brought several horses home with him. What great luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
Later that week, the farmer’s son was trying to break one of the horses and she threw him to the ground, breaking his leg. The neighbours cried, “Your son broke his leg, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
A few weeks later, soldiers from the national army marched through town, recruiting all boys for the army. They did not take the farmer’s son, because he had a broken leg. The neighbours shouted, “Your boy is spared, what tremendous luck!” To which the farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.”
A few months later, the farmer was chatting with his son after watching Charlton thrash Plymouth 6-0. His son said “After that win and with Sunderland in the play-offs we’re surely going up, what amazing luck!” The farmer replied “Maybe so, maybe not. We’ll see.”
I think our main problem is ourselves. We have done a great job this season of shooting ourselves in the foot - giving Burton a 2 goal lead by awful defensive mistakes - gave a penalty away in the last minute that robbed us of 3 points & conversely we then missed a pen in the last minute against Oxford which now looking at the table could prove very costly. And to that all the times we hit the woodwork when we should have scored.....so I'm expecting a hat trick of own goals that even Nabby would be proud of if we ever get so far as the play offs.

this squad is crap, and unfortunately the majority of blame lies with gallen and bowyer!
Hands were tied, I get that, but the player we have brought in have been awfully low quality. need better next season, and hopefully a bit of a Powell type season.
No......because we are not good enough. The attack has been strengthen with the introduction of Millar but we still don't shoot enough or clinical enough in front of goal. Midfield can be slow & ponderous.....with too much backwards & sideways passing.
I refer the right honourable gentleman the answer I gave some 4 months ago.
After conceding that late equaliser at Birmingham last season, I knew in my heart the game was up. Twelve months later, another two points down the drain in the same circumstances, and that same feeling. Hope I'm wrong this time.

Nope nopety nope.
Ok.
"we're not good enough" - sure but on the defensive side of the ball "we still don't shoot enough or clinical enough in front of goal" - clearly not the real problem
Only Burton, Rochdale and Wigan have conceded more goals than us at home this season. It's shocking, we've conceded 18 goals away from home and 36 at the Valley. Make that number 18 home and away and we're probably in the top two.

Edit: no that was Jamie Procter
Can’t see us winning another game
Feels like we’re running out of legs at the wrong time

We’ve given ourselves an even bigger mountain to climb, Nigels going to have too work hard to pick the players up and get us back on track again.
Personally I think we’ve blown it, but maybe just maybe there’s a few more twists and turns, but I’m not banking on it.
