I wrote in early December (for what it's worth) that Bowyer should be given until mid February to improve results .. the January window has seen some potentially exciting new arrivals, BUT no sign of a much needed central defender .. the hope was expressed by Bowyer that the injured will soon be back to shore up the crumbling defences .. they'd better be back fit and firing a s a p.
Do we know if Bowyer has the last word on signings, or is it Gallen ?, Sandy ? .. I M O unless we get 6 points from the next two games, Bowyer should go with our thanks .. there is no excuse for consistent poor tactical planning over and over again, and, I suspect increasingly poor man management of his players ..
To get promotion, any chance of it, we need a manager who can put out a well drilled side that knows what it has to do and does it consistently, perhaps a manager like the Cowleys, or Paul Cook and I am sure that there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here who can name a few more experienced managers capable of getting the best from what is now a decent squad for this division.
I have a very soft spot for Bowyer, but alas, as time goes on he is looking and sounding increasingly out of his depth. I M O he has two games to get right back on track
EDIT.. the 5 games scheduled for February are all winnable .. so come on Bowyer stop fucking about, play a 4 4 2 with the same personnel as far as possible, save your job and save the heartaches far too many Addicks fans are suffering .. in lockdown, we do not need it !! .. in fact we don't need it at any time6 -

On the Night we hit the woodwork and we should of had a penalty, But Portsmouth were the best team and deserved to win.
and like I have said for the last 8 Games, until we get AKEN & INNIS back and stop making Stupid defensive errors this inconsistent shit storm will continue.

4-4-2 with wide players.. Everyone can see the narrow diamond doesn't work but Bowyer persists with it in the first half only to change it because we were behind as usual! Can't keep conceding 2's and 3's a game and expect results.
The two positives are Millar looks dangerous every time he runs with the ball and Stockley is a proper target man who wins everything. Other than that we look terrible and mid table mediocrity is what we are heading for.

Yes, but Maatson wasn't to blame for tonight. Immediately before the goal Gunter gave the ball away sloppily (not the first time). Second goal we should have cleared that (Gunter again), but he isn't a centre half! Third was ridiculous.
We are a team totally lacking in confidence trying to play football that our lack of confidence prevents us doing. We need to go a bit more back to basics, get confidence back and play more football as that builds.
I was saying all along we needed a centre half. That is where we are gifting goals and chances.1 -
