Bowyer was told some time ago we had to make the playoffs or he would be gone at the end of the season.
Birmingham have come in & he's jumped
Makes sense and he knows from the inside players are just not good enough and will let him down and before his stock falls and is sacked has gone to a club where he is adored
People can't seriously think either of those would come to us can they?
"Hi is that Chris Wilder? Did you enjoy two seasons in the Premier League? Brilliant. Listen, next season, fancy sitting on the coach up to Accrington Stanley?"
My WhatsApp pic of the last 3 years is due a change ..... yes that’s right, a 50 year old saddo has every Charlton manager as his WhatsApp pic ....shameful nerd
I hope we appoint Bob dowie and most posters think it’s a selfie
We'll see if it's true or not. I feel like I've gone insane looking at some of the suggestions for replacements though. Howe or Wilder? Two blokes who were most recently managing in the Premier League? Why the hell would they come to Charlton? Because of their deep-seated historical love of the place? Aren't these two managers who we've approached in the past when they were around our level and gave us a FO notice even then? 'Eddie, I know you said no back when you were a L1 manager, but how about joining us now you've proven yourself well above that level for the past 10 years'. Great pitch.
Now this looks true, it must be said there is a sadness to it. Bowyer did a great job at first and he had to put up with so much that you can't blame him for losing it. I fear there has been far too much him against his players this season which as much as anything else has cost us.
I wish him well at Birmingham, if that is where he is going.
I've wanted him gone since about November if I'm honest, however, I'd love to be able to thank him for what he's done at the club the past two years amid some absolute scandalous ongoings.
