He'd be at the training ground, not playing.. he's obviously left Bolton for mental health reasons. MM is player registered with us, if we wipe or noses of him and just pay him off then itl be a huge disappointment and hypocritical given the recent vibes being pushed out from the club.

Just gets frustrating when people pick 1 part of a comment ie the scummy bit. This topic is a huge part of my life and I find it to be insulting when people are a bit flippant on the topic.
Fully expecting Adkins to offer him support and say to him that if he sorts his head out and is in a better place come July then he can join us for pre-season training and we'll take a look at whether we want to take up the option on that second year.
We may ultimately not want to, Maddison himself may even not want to, but Adkins is all about positivity and it'll at least give MM something to potentially target over the summer break.
Hope he sorts himself out as his time at Peterborough shows what he's capable of in the right frame of mind.

Bolton have released him, but it seems they will continue their support. Doesn't sound like he'll be playing for anybody soon.

Bolton Chairman Sharon Brittan added: “Having spent some time with Marcus over the past couple of weeks, it became clear that he was in need of some additional support. “Marcus is a lovely man who I really warmed to and we will ensure that he gets the correct support he needs.
Even though he can’t play, perhaps Adkins will become bit of a father figure and help him out a bit. Not suggesting Maddison should be involved in first team training, but maybe using the gym and him being in a good environment might help.
Marcus Maddison is not someone I would want to go to the pub with but he is obviously not well and I hope he goes away and gets better and finds happiness again

Lockdown has been hard on a lot of people but he has had multiple moves, a break up with his daughters mother and presumably he doesn't get to see a lot of her at the moment. We have to all remember he is still a relatively young bloke and this is all on his mind.

As much as we love the game and would say it’s a waste of talent....at the end of the day this proves it is just a career for these guys! There is a lot more to life than attempting to reignite your football career when you have other shit going on!

It's because we're between transfer windows, he can't change PL/EFL clubs from the one he's registered to, which is Bolton
