2 set piece goals shouldn't hide the situation.
6 wins out the last 9, and we still can't play with rhythm.
Just baffling decisions from Jackson still. JFC not getting a sniff behind Gilbey and Morgan. It's a dead rubber match that we are winning and Kanu gets 45 seconds at the end. Elerewe dropped from the bench.
Midfield getting bypassed for the long ball to Stockley. Although to be fair, if Jackson-ball is going to be hoofing then we may as well just play 3 up front as he did at the end there and not bother with a real midfield.
I still think the outlook is desperately bleak.22 -

Couldn’t make it to the Valley as I went down with Covid yesterday but watched it on Charlton TV. So glad we’ve got that service for those that just can’t make it to the ground.Good to finish our home programme with a win. Two excellent headers with assists courtesy of Albie Morgan, who had one of his best games for us.Big shout out to McG for that double save to stop them taking the lead. As we all know, we never go on to win if we go behind.Chuks Aneke is a real enigma. He lacks mobility and that seriously reduces his ability to lead the line but he also has tons of skill and uses that to make things happen. And his goal scoring record off the bench is excellent. Whilst we all would like him to be better able to start games and complete 90 minutes, in truth for that reason we should probably accept that impact sub is his rightful role.Let’s finish the season with another win away at Ipswich next week and finish in the top half. Then all we can do is hope that Thomas, Martin, Steve and Jacko do the business on transfers and contracts to give us a much stronger team for next season. They got it badly wrong last year. This time there'll really be no excuses if they cock it up again.8

JFC not getting a sniff is a mystery to me. Especially seeing as Gilbey is so poor. As for Kanu, where would have been the harm in giving him 15/20 minutes? I found the booing of their keeper and singing 'he's going to cry in a minute' as moronic as the actual act that caused it in the first place. Are those that did it condoning racist abuse?4

Well if you didn't see the game don't be fooled by the 2-0 scoreline. Against a very limited Shrewsbury team, we were outplayed for much of the first half and MacGillivray was my man of the match with an outstanding double save and a few other top draw saves.
The defence was once again wide open on occasions and the midfield really struggled to gain any control. All personified by Morgan's complete Jekyll and Hyde performance - some awful dead ball kicks before hitting an absolute pearler of a free kick and corner for our 2 goals.
And one final moan. Why on earth bring young Kanu on with literally about 30 seconds to go. He could have had a run out for at least 5 minutes at the end as we were coasting by that time.
Over to you Thomas. You must have seen today that this team is no-where near good enough to put in a challenge for promotion next year. I can only hope you decide to do something about it.

The keeper stopped the game by coming out of his goal once the play stopped and had a chat with the ref about what was going on. Doubt he would’ve done that if he had thrown something at the fans in the crowd.sam3110 said:

The midfield is proper crap and needs an overhaul - no wonder they’re being bypassed when they all have shocking first touch. Only positives are that Dobson and Morgan can play a pass occasionally, and Dobson is strong in the tackle with good positional awareness.I actually think Dobson, JFC and Fraser would be a very decent trio. But we need another bloke in there with them because Gilbey and Morgan should be getting no more than 10 starts between them next season.7
