I read and thought, don’t a lot of the leaks emanate from these individuals TS chooses to share things via LinkedIn from though?
Ie, they can’t have it both ways
No. No one on talking to Thomas on LinkedIn will have suggested it's done as the line on there was until recently that interviews were ongoing and we had a shortlist that had been wittled down to less than 5 (a week or so ago). The leaks are from elsewhere.
Starting to feel sorry for Garner now. A lot of fans already needed winning over as he’s an ‘underwhelming’ appointment, but this complete circus is just going to make the job even harder. The statement from the club is not necessary and just comes across as spiteful.
Rather than this being about TS wanting to be centre of attention in the announcement (as pointed out he wasn’t for Adkins or Jackson) is this about TS feeling it gives him a stronger negotiating position, e.g. for the coaches salaries and Swindon’s compensation?
Perhaps they want to give the impression they have another option as manager if deals can’t be agreed?
It’s got to be resolved soon for Swindon’s season as well as ours.
Scarfy is poised and the large lady is gargling. Thomas Sandgaard is in negotiations with Ollie Groome about if he gets double time for Sunday announcements. This may drag on to next week now but quite rightly Thomas Sandgaard didn't want this news to over shadow the Queen's Jubilee so fair play to him. Raelynn Maloney is a tease.

The leak has clearly come from the Swindon end because they are interviewing for a new manager.............
As a side point, all this does is further strengthen the point about not having a CEO here running things properly on a day to day basis. With a proper CEO, how much of this would have either been sorted by now or got as out of hand as it has? Controlling the narrative is difficult as it is, controlling it from Colorado is even harder.
That club statement reads like splitting hairs and being pedantic. If there was a 2 horse race with someone else in the frame I could understand it, not as it seemingly stands.
A dignified silence and let the leaked news stay out there on its own would have been sensible. I like that TS wants to communicate with fans but this is becoming a farce.

If it was to give the impression to Swindon Town FC, I would have thought they won't believe it, as there would have been another leak in the same way as this one. The only exception perhaps if another manager was not with a club currently. Even then not likely to make the owner of Swindon not think he is holding an ace.
Don't forget that Swindon club and fans are in the same concern as us. Until we announce their manager is ours, they cannot bring in a new manager officially. I can imagine Swindon fans calling TS as many bad names as our fans

Maybe, but then it’s also not logical to appoint your son as Director of Analysis.
Yes WIOTOS but that is an unnecessarily aggressive statement.
So many people who read "incorrect" as "completely untrue".
Should have said nothing or at least no mentioned the press reports which are probably substantially correct (Garner is coming) but not 100% or at least not yet.(Garner and assistants are not yet a done deal).
Completely agree with the "aggressive" comment. This is weapons grade weirdness. Some media outlets including one local paper/journo who is probably the best informed individual in the media regarding the club in recent times have written a few articles saying that a man will become our next manager in the coming days. We don't have a manager and haven't had one for a month, during which time we've presumably been looking for one quite intently and there are no competitive fixtures to distract us. Why is anything that's been written about Ben Garner controversial or worthy of a statement like that or interaction on social media like we've seen. Who, apart from Ben Garner himself or Swindon could possibly be offended by this? Any supposition this is part of some sort of negotiating strategy is hopefully incorrect or this lot are even more hapless than they make themselves appear.
If we appoint him now how is he going to feel? And how much more stupid are our leadership team going to look.
It's almost as if we as a fanbase collectively legged over the club legend and are being made to pay for it...
If it is Garner, feel like this is not a good start to his managership. If I was him I'd release my own statement saying "I've got several offera on the table and I'm taking my time to decide" before politely telling us to do one.

What leaks have come from LinkedIn? All he said on there was we were still interviewing?
I may have misconstrued it, but isn’t he close to some people on here and sharing info related to Garner. If I’ve got that wrong then I will hold my hands up.
On a more general point, what I am saying is that TS does choose to share information with what are to him, complete randoms, regardless of how much he’s shared with them before. Can you imagine a lower level Zynex employee emailing him and asking what the plan is re: marketing or acquisitions and him choosing to share bits and pieces? Moreover, now we have statement saying we’ve yet to appoint Garner, despite a very trustworthy and respectable local journalist saying we are, SkySports saying we are and that being generally accepted that it’s almost over the line.
I don’t really care personally, but you cannot say it doesn’t look messy or amateurish. Particularly if we do end up with Garner. It seems that there’s been no control over what has been put out there during this whole process which I think is
a) because, for whatever reason TS chooses to engage with the odd fan b) I don’t think Garner was the first choice and the process has perhaps gone on longer than it should c) it’s now some sort of wounded pride over the leaks and they must regain control of the narrative - to this I say pointless. It’s paper talk. It will always happen
Also, just what will Garner think. He may not care, but he’s still technically employed by Swindon. Details matter. He’s got a glimpse into how hap hazard things are in the first few weeks of his time in dealing with TS.
And, not that Cawley probably cares, but he’s probably the most reliable source for us not in the know, and it doesn’t look good being called out by the owner’s wife on Twitter. She didn’t do it in a spat kind of way, but Cawley is an honest journo, no agenda, even says there are things he can’t put out unless there is substance, so does hold back if he is unsure.
We’ve just seen a lot of silliness play out that was unnecessary. Now imagine what is going on a bigger level
Btw I’m generally pro TS. I’m not moaning for the sake of it, but I think the whole thing shows a level of incompetence

Seems they can't win.
Airman was on here earlier saying Sandgaard's mrs shouldn't be saying stuff on twitter, and the club should do it through official channels. Now they've done that people are saying they should've said nothing at all.
That said i do agree it's all a bit of a mess, and i'm still convinced it'll be announced officially once TS arrives in London.

TS it seems wants to make sure the whole deal for Garner and
any assistants is done and dusted before he makes an announcement as he obviously
feels things can fall apart at the last minute. I think we all need to be a
little bit careful about slagging him and his missus off too much as he may
wake up one day and think just why am I throwing 8 million a year of my limited
savings at this club without any workable plan to get it back.

I get the feeling Garner is only agreeing to come if his whole team are included in the package. That way compensation and contract negotiations would take slightly longer, surely.
I doubt Garner would back out at this stage, and stay at Swindon, the only fly in the ointment, could be a rival club make a last ditch offer, as when a player gets tarted around by their agent and goes somewhere else at 11th hour. If that were to happen Chernobyl would look like a children's birthday cake compared to CL forum Next Manager thread.
After their statement. If it’s still Ben Garner I have fully 180’d on our ownership.
Not because of the management choice, but clearly Thomas is treating the club like a toy. So far the investment has been great with mistakes among the way (that’s fine), but this just seems childish.

imagine the bitching and teardrops from the worlds biggest crybaby supporters then ….
look forward to that day

Have they brought RD in to ghost write the statement and PR strategy? All it's missing is the repetitive punctuation at the end.
GET ON WITH CHOOSING, AGREEING TERMS WITH AND ANNOUNCING A MANAGER.

Definite write the theme tune, sing the theme tune vibes.
TS and RM should just stay silent until they have something meaningful to say.

I can’t work out why the necessity for this lunacy may exist but you never know.
Garner and TS may be WhatsApping as we speak chuckling about how out of hand it’s got.
