Beale might also appeal to TS because Jason Euell and other support staff already in post like Glyn Shimell, could remain. Beale won’t have a coaching set-up from managing a previous club.
Matt Taylor has. Wayne Carlisle, Kevin Nicholson and Scott Brown are very much Taylor’s team, who you’d imagine he’d want to bring with him.
Which makes the appointment of the development coach even more strange. Appointing Taylor and only Taylor would be the worst of both worlds.
Would he not know Euell from his playing days, they were both here in 2011-12?
I am not averse to a woman manager in principle, I just don't see any candidates at the moment I would like to manage us. Emma Hayes would be the closest and could work but I don't think the league she manages in is that strong yet although it is clearly growing. Somebody will have to be the first and take the risk however, and it could pay off.
Put a smile on my face as the first sentence reminded me of the classic ‘Yes Prime Minister’ on introducing women into the top posts in the Civil Service.

I would prefer Taylor over Beale because Taylor will be far more knowledgeable about the League 1 & 2 best players where we are likely to be fishing. if we go with Beale, it puts more emphasis on the player recruitment department's capabilities ( Martin Sandgaard etc -a little worrying) and loan players from the Prem
Frank's ambition to play entertaining football in South London remains a true ambition and this isn't Peter Pan in never Netherlands. This is a man who hates Palace for not giving him time and refuses to play Boering football.
Not about money, but about cleaning up Charlton Athletic who were left with dirty stains after Southall and co left skid marks that lingers. Frank and Ronald would use the Ajax brand to give CAFC a bright future.
We would see double with the De Boer twins; (buy one, get one free) auto Promotion and Wembley winners in the Papa John's trophy- not in four seasons but one.

I wonder if we did get Beale if there’s a better chance that with his coaching credentials teams will be more willing to loan us some of their talented players above other teams.
I can't quote verbatim but Thomas Sandgaard saying despite Michael Beale being a good coach Cafc are looking for a more ambitious appointment. I believe that is known as burning your Bridges.
This was said after Nigel Adkins left.
Michael Beale as manager/coach with a "director of football/general manager" so Michael can concentrate on the football Tatics would show ambition to build a club's DNA or find it ! and was on my short list for sure.
Beale may only be called assistant coach but Stevie G, loves his input and are still in the process of creating Villa's identity and they can only keep improving with the signing of Coutinho.

We have Gallen and currently Jason to know the division. Getting in the best coach that’s possible is the most important thing.
Surprised to see people think Beale wouldn't leave Premier League Villa as it's a good job etc. Mckenna left Man Utd to take up his first managerial role... why wouldn't Beale leave Villa?
Confused as to why people think he wouldn't leave Premier League Villa as it's a good job etc. Mckenna left Man Utd to take up his first managerial role... why wouldn't Beale leave Villa?
A but different though McKenna (and Carrick) weren't part of the package they were "left overs" from the previous managers. Beale specifically moved jobs twice to go with Stevie G MBE.
No , I do not want a woman managing the men's team.
Ok, I've said it. So sue me.
Can’t see why. Coaching and good ideas for football are not the preserve of men. I don’t see a problem. We’re not asking her to go in goal are we.
Sure, if it is just a coach you're looking for. Managers tend to have more over-arching duties including handling personal issues, dressing somebody down when necessary, there are natural differences between the characters or women vs men. Maybe when this particular change happens in English football it will be a success, jury is still out for me on whether a woman in charge would be able to reign in 20+ young men all with bags of banter and attitude, having to retain that level of respect at the helm. There's every chance Emma would come in and be a success, but as we haven't seen a female manager in the mens English game yet, I for one would rather us not be the guinea pig of this particular social experiment considering how wide apart the women's game currently is from the mens.
@vfrf - why would a woman managing a group of male footballers be any different to a woman managing a group of male accountants, doctors, bank staff, bakers etc
There is absolutely no difference in managing a women's team to managing a men's team.

Wouldn't say they were leftovers. They were kept on even after Ole left (Carrick chose to leave) but Mckenna was a first-team coach under Ragnick so was part of the coaching set-up still. Beale following Gerrard from Rangers to Villa is a given, he wouldn't have stayed at Rangers when there's a guaranteed job for him at Villa.

But they weren't Ragnick's men, so to speak, and there was no guarantee that they would still be there next season as yet another manager comes in, wanting to bring his own people in. Part of the decision for McKenna to leave was probably timing. None of that applies to Beale currently.
Found this to be slightly muggy to Beale - “He has a fantastic track record, especially on the supporting side,” said Sandgaard at the time. “Of course we talked to Michael. We’ve also been a little more ambitious than that, in terms of the level of managers we’ve been reaching for.”

So maybe they have narrowed the long list down to a short list or even a list of one.

Frank de Boer and Ronald de Boer.

The futures bright, The futures Orange.
Is that to get Championship clubs interested - Or is it a message to Sandgaard to re-think his wage offer.

Plenty of possible sources.
