I’ve had calls from the commercial dept (which I am happy to receive), but they were trying to sell boxes and ticket upgrades etc - at a time when we had no manager and no new signings.
The thinking didn’t sound very joined-up to me.
As a l long term ST holder, I am struggling to get excited about going to the early games at all !
If it’s another season of unwatchable passing back to the keeper and kicking it across the centre circle, then I won’t be rushing to go - let alone any kind of upgrade.
Even though perhaps Jokat was underperforming, and some of the fans have mentioned that they found him and his ideas unimpressive, that is still pretty grim if true.
Is this a new role for her & does anyone have any further information ?
Without knowing the facts, as with the Women's Football Club, she must have formalized delegated authority to act on behalf of the Club The FA would not have answered her request on the proposed name change unless they had a document with her signature on as a duly authorized representative Unless the FA are less than diligent of course. I make no comment 🤔
Even though perhaps Jokat was underperforming, and some of the fans have mentioned that they found him and his ideas unimpressive, that is still pretty grim if true.
Not sure how they can judge performance in 6 weeks, in the off season, when the club has done little in the way of investment in the playing side!
Yeah, this is a fabulous time to get involved with crypto
In fairness, they've all taken a big drop lately but they follow a pattern. Huge peaks that tend to exceed the previous one. Check Etherium for example. In the middle of a big slump at the moment, but it will come back stronger. It seems to track bitcoin performance.
I'd be more worried that TS fancies a dabble on crypto, but the money he is investing is actually a loan to the club. He's therefore risking zero.

Also I heard the opposite from unimpressive.
Sure, I’m not saying he was bad at his job, hence my use of the word ‘perhaps’. But we did have at least one fan on here discussing how his presentation around boxes was repetitive and pitched completely wrong.
My point was, and I will say it again, even if he was crap at his job (I’m not saying he is), that’s a really grim, and as mentioned bullying way, to go around things.
Worked with him on museum and other stuff and he clearly cared, wanted to make things work and brought not just being a fan but energy and enthusiasm to everything he did.
Big loss for the club IMHO but another employer will benefit, soon I hope
All jokes aside this is utterly shit for those poor people who have lost their jobs.
Wonder how the "TS can do no wrong & it's HIS MONEY! " fans will spin this latest news ?
Just asking a question, of course.....
Absolutely awful news for everyone affected.
If the people let go have commercial/marketing duties as has been hinted on here, the mistake made will have been to hire them in the first place, rather than letting them go today which was frankly inevitable.
A big bet made on ‘growing the brand’ which everyone but the owner expected to go south.
Agree with this. TS expected his 5 year plan to come to fruition of successive promotions, now it hasn't he's trying to scale back the infrastructure.
It looks on the face of it like he's bitten off more than he can chew financially. However, he is investing in the training facilities and Garner's new era. So perhaps he's just trying to cut the cloth accordingly and minimize unnecessary losses.
I'm not enthused by Raelynn having a more prominent role in the club, she seems to somewhat lack the professionalism.

No owner of any company is 100% correct with the actions they take to protect there investments. As I have said before I own a company of similar size and staff numbers (excluding playing side). We have been through a major restructuring of the company which appears (although I could be totally wrong here) to be similar to what Charlton are doing. You have to think that it’s your money (obvious, but hard as I’m an engineer not an accountant ) that being thrown away, we were lucky in our case it was a few hundred thousands a year (not millions as in Charlton case). We were eating up our cash reserves (my pension / savings) and would have been in debt if we hadn’t a taken the bull by it horns and stemmed the flow probably within two years and certainly trading illegally within 3 years.
This is a very simplified version of what we did, I believe Charlton are attempting a similar strategy.
So how do you go about stemming the flow of money, firstly you sit back and look at the company and try to work out where all the dosh is disappearing (that took around a year), however from day 1 of this part of the process you try to improve things by small implementation, ie you ask your engineers to actually do what you pay them to do, work not sit in the canteen drinking tea, you also ask the managers why aren’t they doing there job and ensuring we are getting a fair days work. About three months in it’s becomes obvious that the managers are lazy and out of touch. So you get new managers, but because you have questioned your engineers / staff they start to rebel / wander off, eventually the whole company becomes toxic and the only way to get rid of the toxicity is to change the managers and engineers / staff or sell the company. [In Charlton case they need to win points and get promoted, and they decided to change manager (a fair few times) and now they appear to be changing the players to achieve there sim of promotion)
We went down the change the engineers / manager route, after 18 months 75% of the engineers etc have departed on the own accord the remainders have been made redundant. We have got a complete new workforce, and things are much happier and the new engineers have bought into the idea that they actually work. Once we had broken the back of the losses on the engineering side, we are looked at our sales team, and again we found that it’s not working how it is supposed to, without going into to much detail, the whole sales team has left as we decided to go away from “door knocking” sales into a much more technical sales which our existing staff unfortunately couldn’t undertake, they agreed it was necessary and basically left. We are probably 50% through getting the company back on an even keel. We have cut the losses down to nearly break even, but the company is no longer toxic, it’s a much happier place to work. [the new season will soon tell us if the new manager / players has been successful, the more successful the team is I believe that Charlton will lose less money, ie points mean more through the turnstiles, but what I don’t know if by paying for different players wether that will increase the losses or wether this increase in costs can be counteracted by the increase in throughput through the turnstiles)
Was it pleasant, was it enjoyable, no of course not, I had many a sleepless night worrying about my engineers and staff, and what effect my actions would have on their and their families lives. It was only during an interview with someone we employed to help us with the restructuring pointed out that these people whom I was worrying about have had my trousers down and been giving me a good rogering for many a year, and it was all my fault for being to soft, that I saw the light. It was a horrible period of my life, but we are nearly through it now, it’s not something I want to experience ever again, so we now take the line, if they are no good they go, no ifs, no buts it’s goodbye. [Seem some learning from past mistakes by both me and Charlton are happening at the momen]
Sorry about the ramble, I hope it makes sense, but I just trying to give the owners perspective, of what it like to undertake a total restructuring of a business when it’s failing, it’s a very simplistic version of what I and what I believe the Charlton owner is going through, did I make mistakes of course I did, did people point them out, you aren’t kidding, did I take notice, well we see. Will Thomas make mistake, Christ of course he will, will he take notice of the criticism probably, will it affect his decisions, myself I doubt it.
All jokes aside this is utterly shit for those poor people who have lost their jobs.
Wonder how the "TS can do no wrong & it's HIS MONEY! " fans will spin this latest news ?
Just asking a question, of course.....
I don't know anyone who has said "TS can do no wrong" so rather than have a sly dig can you present the facts about what is going on behind the scenes so we can all make an informed decision!
OK. Plenty of posters support TS on just about everything he does. And are very quick to point the finger at those who have serious doubts about his decision making, about turns & yes, even SMT appointments.
Clearly, I tend to be in the latter "camp" ( sorry, Kenneth !) based on evidence that's before our very eyes on a weekly, if not daily basis.
Presenting the facts is something that I have no part in....as it's already there in print for all to see....unless you doubt the validity of numerous sources, including the club itself. Just one indisputable example :
TS appointments : Roddy, Mumford, Jokat - all SMT.
SMT staff leaving : Roddy, Mumford, Jokat, with the latter apparently sacked.
Already, another possible appointment is being mentioned- one Jared Winn....who happens to conduct his business from the US, I believe, and as such, if employed would be A N Other important member of the SMT working at distance from SE7.
Today, we also learn ( unless you feel that anyone would make up such an unbelievable story) that Thomas' partner is now involved in the day to day business at our club. I have heard rumours of late that this is the case, but clearly you would scoff at the "r" word so why on earth would I post something encouraging derision ?
Maybe, in your world, none of these facts are important enough to warrant concern. And whilst I agree that the playing side of the club appears to be developing well, I cannot stuff cotton wool in my ears & ignore the very concerning facts, presented regularly, that are on view AND are substantiated.
I'm old & ugly enough to weather the barbs shot in my direction but I shall continue to question the modus operandi & seeming micro management of the club I love should I believe it's not in the best interests of CAFC going forward.
I can remember reading in the past that a lot of his employee's zynex were on performance related contracts and was quite ruthless in terms of the hiring and firing, which as much as don't agree I assume if is the case they would have known what they were signing up for when they took the job, pure speculation btw
IF true then.. "Head of HR" who replies to a local journalist via Twitter to discredit transfer rumours/stories is an absolute shambles. Like many, I have big support for TS but if the above is correct then it should be called out and rightly so. Amazing that staff are leaving and TK hasn't... it stinks.
This adds to my growing uneasiness over how the club is being run.
Jokat and the sales team may or may not have been up to the job but if so why were they given the job and were their targets realistic in the first place?
Losing one senior manager can be misfortune, losing Roddy, Mumford (who resigned) and now Jokat (ignoring the football managers for the time being) looks like more than just carelessness.
It reeks of unrealistic expectations of how much commercial income a league 1 club can generate in a depressed economy and how many season tickets we can realistically sell.
Bleeding staff, especially those who know the business and the "customer" base, is never good.
Neither are knee jerk reactions which don't include owners reflecting on their own part in the failure.
Something seriously wrong here, not sure Jokat doing or TS.. Maybe Jokat couldn't work under the forever moving goalpost!
Are you able to expand on what might have changed for him during the short period since his arrival? Was it to do with sales targets or job remit?
I don't know about Jokat, but certainly for Mumford that was the case.. Sounds like Jokat went because he told a certain someone to stop getting involved, in stuff they shouldn't be.. TS took exception to it!
Still sounds like a bit of a mess behind the scenes if true. You can’t appoint a COO and then have your other half (however well qualified), in a non formal position sticking their beak in. That’s not a conducive way to run the club. Does Raelynn have that sort of say in Zynex? Part of me think TS still doesn’t understand what he’s bought when I see examples like this. Appreciate I am only going off of what is said above, but if he wants to offer Raelynn a role, do it properly. Appoint her as head of HR or whatever role like he has done his lad with Director of Analytics, move her over here and get on with it. None of this ‘oh, I can dip in and out of decision making, depending on the problem.’
I have no idea if Jokat was good, bad or indifferent, but successful businesses are built on appointing senior people and allowing them to lead. Otherwise, don’t bother.
When you read of this stuff it gives the impression that it’s a step forward (appointing Garner, new approach etc), quickly followed by a step back. Seems to be a pattern emerging during his tenure.
As always, grateful for everything he’s given financially, still feel that he deserves the time only 2 years in, but the execution, from the outside looking in, isn’t great

Its no different to what happened to Jacko really, placing on unrealistic targets on people cant be good for morale around the club, feeling like you are constantly under pressure and walking a tight rope
I am yet to be convinced that cryptic currency and bitcoins are anything more than some kind of pyramid selling bollocks. 2+4-5=1 there you go, a non fungicide token, where do I collect my car?
Talking of unrealistic expectations on the sales and marketing side, I've often thought Charlton TV cannot be sustainable either. Wonder if that'll be scaled back this season too.
I’ve got no idea whether this is right, but wouldn’t senior management positions (ie HR) have to be accredited accordingly by the appropriate governing body as such - does Mrs Sandgaard have this qualification??
As I say, I have no idea whether this is right but surely there’s legal safeguards in place to stop company owners doing things like this?
I’m now starting to seriously worry about who we have running our club and what lies ahead for us. Seems to be one drama after another. This latest one is messing with people’s lives. I predict we won’t see any of that money from the Pope deal spent on players.
I believe @PragueAddick previously posted an interesting insight into Raelynn's attributes having met her if you care to read it. Sorry but being a technophobe (only got my first ever smartphone this year) I don't know how to create the link, but it's probably one of his more recent posts if that helps. (3 posts on June 10th and 11th well worth the read)
