Only 1 team playing as a team and it isn't us - just like previous seasons under Adkins and JJ we look good for a few games then we get found out and then its downhill all the way
Half this side were recruited from league Two and it shows.
Four players in this line up... CBT | Payne | O'Connell | Wollacott
  • Youth players forced into teams they aren't ready for and their mistakes cause us to lose games.

When you're given a squad like this, what can you really expect from a season.
    Spot on.
  • Football is not brain surgery - recruitment wasn’t great, we concede way too many goals (don’t concede and we don’t lose) and we don’t score enough (outscoring opponents is easier when they don’t score).  No points for possession stats.  Being a realist is not popular on here for some, but these last few matches seem to have proved a lot of end of season concerns, both on and off the pitch.  Watching this doesn’t seem much different to last year (even reverting to the same formation, without the right players again), results are no better - 2 wins, 1 of which was very, very lucky. To avoid disappointment, the acceptance that we are a bottom half League 1 team at least helps with mood and expectation management.
  • 352 suits us even less than 433. We’re doing it to try and accommodate Stockley, because we don’t have a viable alternative to him, but it negates CBT and JRS who are easily our biggest attacking threats and exposes a young make shift left back.

It didn’t really work midweek and it’s not working today. Instead of just Stockley looking uncomfortable, the entire team does.

Square pegs in round holes syndrome again.

Usually a sign you don’t have all the players you need in your squad.
  • The players are not interested.
    No contest for Fleetwood.

Camped not just in our own half, but on the edge of our box last 10 minutes.

    Not great this.
  • In the week, someone said on another thread we’d have been better off with Jacko.

This team is playing exactly the way we did at the end of last season under him.

One impressive run from Clayden aside, there has been basically nothing positive about this 45 minutes of football.

Four who haven't disgraced themselves tbh!

So much for the words from Clare in pre-season... "We knew last season wasnt good enough, and we want to put that right this year" - Just shut up now lads, and save your talking through the results

    Clayden once again.

The problem with not having two senior left backs.
There is one on the bench who has been with us a month.
Egbo is a Right-Back, but he can play Left-Back as shown in pre-season, so wont be surprised if he replaces Clayden at some stage in the second half rather than Sean Clare
I was talking about Terrel Thomas.
    He's a Centre-Back - Right footed as well
Can't be. Golfie is seldom wrong

  • Oh shit we just had a cross into the box that was near to Stockley.

    Edit: two crosses!
  • Wombles losing 1-0

Anyone surprised a squad assembled to play 433 is struggling to play 352 away from home without their manager on the touchline?!
Except it wasn't or we would have had a mobile striker to fit the 433

Yes and clearly that old sage was right. He also said that Jackson wasn't the answer.

100% Saandgard is an idiot, you cant just sign nobody in key positions (left back and striker) and think its ok we will just to stick with untried kids and we will be okay. It's the arrogance that has underpinned Sandgaards entire reign

    Yet
  • Depressing.

Since Plymouth we have got worse each game, and we are now starting to look like the same team making the same mistakes which we have done over the last couple of seasons.
  • The only positive from that half is that we surely can't be as bad as that in the second period.
  • Leo reckons it’s the crowds fault we are shit.
  • Fraser is still in nappy changing mode.
Are Garner and the staff and the players trying to make some kind of point?
    What about respecting the fans?

    Don't bank on it.

Yeah, those four have not been the problem this season. CBT has done his doggies but wingback doesn't get the best out of him. O'Connell has looked good. Wollacott, a bad mistake on Tuesday aside, has kept us in a lot of games this season. Payne has been anonymous today, but he's far from the only one.

What on earth about Wimbledon being 17th in League 2 makes you think we should have their manager instead?

At least with Garner there have been positive patterns of play in matches. I don’t know how much more of turgid 3-5-2 in this league I can take.
  • We don’t have a system that completely suits us.

    Curbs calling for 4-3-3.

I'd question if having Fraser and Payne is nullifying them both

Fraser has been sitting in Midfield a lot more, Payne has been making the runs which havent quite come off - Whereas Scott is our top scorer for the same reason.
