  • Stating the obvious here but we are in a relegation battle . I think we keep assuming things will improve but this team is awful, I can’t see it,
we are making last seasons squad look like world beaters . Recruitment has been woeful.
    Grim .
I have been think, for a few weeks now, this reminds me of when an underdog gets promoted the the Premier league and beats one of the big clubs, or thrashes someone, in the first handful of games.

All the pundits say how refreshing it is then it's 4 games without a win, then 8, then 10.  But it will click again...

They almost always end up getting relegated.  That's exactly what happened to us.

    This is grim.

We really arent. We have drawn 7 games and lost 3...it aint good form but it aint relegation form either.

Literally if we won 2 of those drawn games we would be top 10.

Im under no illusions that it aint great but that statement is ridiculous.
Errr ... and if we'd lost two of those drawn games we would be in the relegation zone .....
But we didnt. Yes we didnt win them either but simple fact is these draws can prove vital come the end of the season.

To say we are in a relegation battle is daft though. The teams we have lost too occupy the top 6.

The doom and gloom on here is remarkable. I dont like watching this football atm but I genuinely think a positive result will kick start things...not saying it will be rosy and we will get promoted etc before im set upon!

Think 442 has to stay to accommodate the players we have.

Seven points from 10 games is 0.7 points a match, which is very much “relegation form”.
There are 33 games to go....

2 points off the drop, so I'm not sure he's the one making the ridiculous statement.

Over a quarter of the way through the season now, this isn’t just a bad early run. We absolutely have to find a way to beat Exeter on Tuesday as we have a tough couple of matches later in October.
Exeter a tough match too. Won 2-0 at Barnsley today and eighth in the table.

Garner has 4 more points than Adkins did after 12 games.

That'll be great when he goes on a run like Jacko did as caretaker......

Two poor sides faced off in a spectacle of mid-third-tier-football this afternoon, which produced nothing of real note besides a phantom Miles Leaburn goal that was adjudged not to have crossed the line. But who knows, because the referee got clattered  just over the halfway line and had to go off? The linesman was within distance, but he couldn’t be sure based on the angle. Hey-ho. A new referee came on and tried to pick up the pieces.

Absolutely nothing else of note happened. Like two grand master chess champions on ketamine, the two possession-hungry sides cancelled each out. Ben Garner failed to engineer a way through again, taking off Dobson for MacGrandles, and Sessignon for Clare, with ten minutes to go, then taking off Kirk for CBT a little after, and giving two and a half minutes to lil’ Payne to try and force a breakthrough. We picked up a point, but it really wasn’t enough. Lincoln were there for the taking, had we tested their error-prone keeper more we may have come away with all three points.

The last fifteen minutes were hapless for both sides.

At least we kept a clean sheet.

    Lincoln 0 Charlton 0

    Over to you.
WTF is going on tonight with the Post Match Thread (Dont think I havent seen it) - Clearly zero communication between any of you Mods - Are you looking to emulate the Charlton First Team, because if you are, you're doing a great job!!
Can’t get the staff these days par for the course 😉.
Sandgaard hasn't sacked the mods as well has he ?

As things stand, does anyone think this squad of players is stronger than the squad of players that finished last season?

Personally think we’ve ballsed up the Summer transfer window big time.

Exactly, we didn't lose them or win them.

You were the one saying "but if we won two ..." and all I was saying was you could turn that around and say "but if we lost two ...".

At the end of the day the table doesn't lie, and no wins in 8 games tells it's own story. We appear to be getting worse and not better.

No point looking up, this is where the action is.

For what it is worth that table is wrong the results are not showing todays results. FRG won
The table is correct. We have 13 pts, FGR have 11.

IMO we didn't really merit the 2 wins we got- Derby should have been 3 or 4 up at HT and Plymouth result greatly affected by the  sending off. However majority of the season  is still to play.

I think you’re confusing  relegation battle with relegated. No one is saying it’s all over and we’re going down, but during those 33 games (I think it’s actually 34) that we have to go we are absolutely going to have to turn this form around or we will be. That’s a relegation battle and we are definitely in it now.
Nope im not. The guy said we are in relegation battle. We are not...not after 12 games.
  • Was at the game today as it’s local. No positives today, despite playing 4-4-2 we still tried to play Garner Ball and it still came unstuck when it was played to feet to Stockley and to a certain extent Leaburn. The wingers couldn’t beat their men and the odd early cross was missed by the front two. The back four and central two did okay but it was a very poor Lincoln side. We simply don’t have the players to play Garner’s style of football. With the reduced budget I don’t expect any decent reinforcements coming in January. Roll on to the next owner, let’s hope it’s not a crook or an egomaniac.

Did Plymouth having ten men really change much.

I mean their player only got sent off because his hand got in the way of Kirk's effort, so it was 2-0 regardless - Not to mention them having eleven players wouldn't have made much difference to Clare's strike either.

It illustrates that we are missing a 20 plus goalscorer. That would change a lot of the draws into wins. The people/person responsible for not trying to address this are clueless. I have known this from the start of the season, how am I supposed to get engaged as a fan by this?
