Okay, not too worried by that... Wanted to see us get the Play-Off C but never mind
We've got off pretty lightly. Some of those other groups look very very open.
Could see Serbia and Denmark being problematic, they've caused problems at Major Tournaments for other big Nations, so shouldnt take them lightly.
But we're the second best team in Europe... Lets prove it
I do agree, I just think Denmark are a side on the down though
First tournament in a while where I didn't really care who we got. I think we should be confident that we can beat anyone.
Was just the Netherlands and Italy I didnt want
Whatever the Tournament, they're the two we always seem to struggle against - Same we're in France's half of the draw too, was hoping they'd "want" an England vs France Final
how does it work with the third place teams? Its only the 4 with most points (that progresses) isn't it so how the hell do they decide who plays who? Another draw in the middle of the tournament???
It's going to be fucking France in the semi's then isn't it? Although realistically i think any side who wins the Euro's is going to have to beat them at some point.

Pre determined based on which four groups contain the best 3rd finishers…

Switzerland knocked them out in the 2nd Round last time round

UEFA want to avoid situations where there are rematches earlier than a semi final. Hence why England (if they win Group C) can only face D/E/F teams.
Any potential quarter final is against A or B runners up so putting any 3rd placed A/B team against England COULD result in two teams who already played in a group game playing each other in a quarter final.
Once you get to the semis though it’s unfortunately unavoidable. But they still do their best to mitigate it.

'kin hell !
They really messed up the competition by expanding it to 24 teams didn't they - not only the above nonsense but they have made it so that the teams in group E and F who play their final game later have an advantage over the earlier groups - e.g teams in group F who play their final group game last will know exactly how many points/goals (because it's bound to come down to goal difference) they need in their final game to progres.
It's a small thing in the context of the whole competition I suppose but isn't that the reason why the final group game was changed to be played simultaneously in groups to avoid this kind of thing?

Frankfurt booked for the denmark game, bring it on!
Flights to Frankfurt booked - out Saturday 15th - stay Frankfurt Saturday night - train to Gelsenkirchen Sunday for the game and stay overnight - back to Frankfurt on Monday for the game on Thursday - fly back Friday. See how it goes and may go back for last 16, quarter, semi and hopefully final but we definitely have enough caps for the qualifiers.
Train is about 90 minutes to Gelsenkirchen and all free travel if going to the game.
