There appears to be a bit of interest in the Director of Cricket role being vacated by Downton at the end of the season. According to The Cricketer the likes of David Fulton and Min Patel have applied and one Paul Farbrace has expressed an interest in the job too - he only joined Sussex as Head Coach this season.
Compton holes out. I might be tempting fate, but not a bad thing for him to go now, a perfect time for Blake to arrive with 18 overs to go.
I hope he plays better than he did yesterday!
Unfortunately not. I think it's quite clear to everyone that he isn't getting a new contract at the end of the season and the fact that he played for Hayes yesterday in between matches for Kent on Friday and today does rather reflect that - no other Kent player was allowed to play yesterday as far as I'm aware
