We need players that can hit the ground running, Sess is not what we need right now.8

Very good interview with Andy Scott.. Clearly looking to go toe to toe with championship clubs for the players we want.9

I was kinda looking forward to this Jamaican striker, bit of an unknown compared to the usual journeyman clogger we usually end up with.1

- I think it already has and he's just getting it out there early. Once again it's all talk and no action3 -
I wonder if there’s anything in Sam Nombe being on the bench against Portsmouth?

I’m with curbs get a striker in now…before May gets injured - let’s then get all strikers back for later in the years and give the manager a nightmare of who to leave out we’ve never been in this position why is it always the striker position where we have the bare minimum0

I’m worried that playing May upfront by himself will ruin his confidence.5

Can we really compete against Championship clubs, who can surely offer more money?3 -

Reminds me of when we ‘tried’ to buy Ivan Toney. ‘Oh well, we didn’t get him, but isn’t it good that we tried.’7

It's great to be ambitious but I'd rather be realistic & bring in players who want to be here.....not wait for some Billy Big Bollox who's spent 2 months waiting for Leicester or Southampton to sign him.0 -
We wasted a summer with TS chasing Championship quality players. Iirc we signed McGrandles to huge fanfare of "worth £600K, Championship teams wanted him etc and a bunch of last second panic buya to try to make a squad.0

Big couple of weeks for this new ownership to try and please an already largely sceptical fan base.
4-5 new recruits are needed, with at least 2-3 of those being needed urgently. Will we get them and go on to have a strong first half of the season, or are we going to mess about and end up like we were under Sandgaard, treading water in mid-table?6 -

Bare minimum at this stage is a right back / right wing back and a striker.
It sounds like we're trying to get more than just that through the door, but if the players won't come then those are the two positions I'd expect us to fill in the last couple of days of the window.

They did their due diligence. They've been around since christmas. They knew the score when they took over. There was a high likelihood that they would struggle to get the unwanted off the books. Due diligence would have told them that.
To make a success of this, they are going to have to take a hit to get where they claim they want this club to be.
If they aren't willing to do that, and are hoping to do this on the cheap they they will go down in the same category of our last few owners.
Brilliant!
You will ALWAYS say the opposite to the majority.

Instead they paid him c£10m for a loss making club that he himself only paid c£1.5m.....and now dont have any money to strengthen the team.
The only way they are going to get a return on their money is if we get promoted. This current squad is not good enough for top 6.
And these are guys that are supposedly millionaires who are canny with business decisions.0 -

We wanted Edun then, couldn't get him. The alternative (Penney) was unfortunately not very good. We've got Edun now and he looks quality.
For me, that's enough to give him the benefit of the doubt over the January window.

Which to be fair is understandable. It's rare for a January window to be a real season changer and of course we don't know how much of that is Scott and how much was Gallen.
But "benefit of the doubt"? No. Not yet. We've got some good players in with the likes of May and Camara but they were fairly obvious high profile targets. We have no idea if he can spot a genuine diamond in the rough, and the financial arrangements (whatever those are) seem to have left us stalling until we manage to get rid.
I'm certainly not saying he's NOT capable (yet) as there's still time and the circumstances aren't the best... but he's still very much unproven (in our current position) for me.1
