If you look at last years gk stats AMB did really well for his first season. He definitely did dip towards the latter end of the season but that’s no reason to suggest he won’t regain full form after a rest and a pre season. He’s a fine young keeper and has a bright future.

Never a problem to bring quality players in though and if Vigeroux is a top keeper then it’ll only spur AMB on. Definitely sounds like Jojo will be on his way and will only get good wishes from me if that’s true. Perfect keeper for a team who want their goalkeeper to be almost an extra outfield player.

So we’ve got Vigeroux, May, Flint, Dack and James-Wildin as names being linked.

Sessegnon as well has been linked with a return... Scott Banks was another name mentioned on this thread around the time that Dack first came up, Crystal Palace Midfielder who spent last season on loan @ Bradford

Would be very happy with these names above. Even if some don't happen much better rumours than we were getting last season! Some good experience in there which is good for the younger players in our squad as well

Don’t think AMB is ready to be a number one. Has the potential to improve so we should keep. Jojo is too good as a number two in league one. He should move on for his own sake, plus we might get a bit of money too. If Vigeroux is as good as he’s being built up to be and wants to come and is budget neutral with Jojo then we should do it. Sounds like a win all round to me.

Is that Billy Sharp? Would be very surprised. I posted an article earlier in the thread that Flint has said publicly that he wants a return to the Massives. As northern based players it seems unlikely to me.

Like the look of him ! played with Rak Sakyi aswell for palace and has had a full season in league 2

plays right wing sometimes left but his freekicks is what we need aswell i want us to be alot more of a threat from all set plays this coming season

Is Hector signing or not? Longer it drags on, less likely it is imo.

Yes but it was a suggestion by Acworth so I wouldn’t take it seriously.

May and Vigouroux would be an excellent start to the summer. Not too convinced by the Dack rumours really, think he could still get a championship club

Im hearing the right back of Stevenage Luther James-Wildin
Wonder what this means for Steven Sessegnon then, who was also a rumour of late.

Unless we do go with Egbo | Sessegnon | James-Wildin as three of our Full-Backs, with Sess there for Left-Back too

He's the cursed "Right-Footed LB", but barely put a foot wrong there, when fit last season.

Regardless... Stevenage fans are gonna love us
Holden had multiple opportunities towards the end of last season to play Sessegnon at right back and didn't. He came into the squad as a left back and that's what he was to us. If we do sign Sess I suspect it will again be as a left back, though I'm not sure I can take people frothing because right foot man do left foot place.

Was told before the end of last season that JoJo wants guaranteed first team football, so for footballing reasons alone he is likely to be sold and a new no2/competitor to AMB coming in. Was also told Hector extremely unlikely. Nothing to do with game time etc. He took an almighty drop in salary with us from his Champ/Prem contract wages and his agent is determined to get him back up the scale. I believe that will rule us out unless the new owners inject higher wage levels… Said to help, not to burst any bubbles etc.

Feels like we’ve had more rumours in the last 2 weeks than in the last 2 windows combined

Feels like Derby will probably come in with a bid , even if they have been supposedly linked to Stockton

    Takeovers tend to do that.

Bradley Dack will not be signing for us, that's just comical.

Hector I fully get as being a bit of a long shot and not being resolved quickly, unless he signs with someone else soon.  But why is it talking so long for Thomas?  That should be the easiest deal of all to do.

Did he? We were hardly blessed with alternative LBs, whereas we had plenty of RB alternatives.

A bit about Luther James Wildin.

All the big clubs missed him as a kid and ended up signing for Notts County as an u16.  He was not at a professional club at all before that.  They released him at 19.

He dropped down to Nuneaton for a year and followed the manager to Stevenage.  In his first season he won their young player of the year award and was linked with a potential move to Arsenal.

He is out of contract this summer and will almost certainly be leaving Stevenage with Coventry one of the clubs linked to him.

Wildin feels like good solid competition for Egbo. Don't think it would rule out Sess signing.

Weighing up whether to respond on this as I do not know whether the person who told me the reason why reads this site, so what I will say is this. Despite our opinions on some relatively local sides, their division atm etc, some recent investors going into clubs have boosted their coffers CONSIDERABLY and as competitive as mid to high end L1, so one club in particular was in for TT and had put an offer on the table nearly double what ours was. Unless TT is going to be 1st team - he will be 1st team there - the combo of factors may mean he is a non-starter too. May need to ask for forgiveness, but this is the backdrop… Hope it makes sense as trying to be a bit cryptic while share the gist. CBs, LBs and RB defo targets but that is stating the bleedin obvious!

Fwiw - speaking with a player last night who played in league 1 last season, his opinion is that Charlton will finish in the top 6 next season

Guessing from that the other club is Gillingham
