Used to go to a pub at the top of the road in the left corner of the picture. Long before they added that little stand down the High street end
Glad you survived, it's a bit ropey round there.
Spent 6 years living there in the 90s (the town, not the pub) - soon learnt where not to go…. A pub called ‘La Fontaine’ didn’t exactly scream squaddie
Need to go here looks like a great stadium. I was lucky enough to go to the Calderon for a game against Real. Atmosphere was one of the best I've ever been to.

Blimey, now did you manage to get a ticket for that? I went to the penultimate home game there and got a ticket on the day, which I was pleasantly surprised with. The atmosphere was as hot as the weather.
I’ve been to San Mames three times now, and it really is one of the best. Fantastic modern ground in a great city. I’d encourage anyone to to. Great atmosphere created by the home fans too
Home end of Greuther Furth looking towards the St Pauli fans in the away end, far left of the opposite stand. Talking to some of the St Pauli fans in the pub after the game, apparently a 180 year waiting list for a season ticket or something stupid like that.
Lokomotiv Zagreb, the city's very, very, very second team, arrived ten minutes after kick off, so they let us in free, only a hundred supporters there. If you wanted a beer, a fella at a trestle table poured it out from a two litre plastic bottle. Everyone (taxi drivers, staff, other supporters) were genuinely bewildered as to why a group of Englishmen would waste their afternoon watching them play.
In the away end with CSKA Sofia away at Slavia Sofia, the CSKA 'ultras' were just to the right and spent the entire game throwing fireworks at the linesman. We even bought a bag of the toasted sunflower seeds (yellow bags on view) to eat to fit in with the locals, the novelty wears off after the first handful.
Ignore the 'aged' look of the photo, it was a filter on the camera app, I don't know how to remove, picture only a few years old rather than from the 70s.

Great pictures these, must have been a while ago before redevelopment.
Sorry, put some more up and I'll promise not to get them right!
