West Ham will finish this game on 36 points and Moyes will get pelters and 1 point below on 35 are Brighton and De Zerbi continues to get praise as they are easy on the eye.
Both sides lost their best player last season.
Also shows the relative fanbase and how they define success. Brighton are punching way above their weight, whereas West Ham think they should be in and around the European spots every year
I can't disagree with that Sam, as West ham fan/critics believe they are at the same level as Spurs, Man utd, Newcastle and now Villa. Chelsea, I hate to include !
Obviously Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are the best 3 teams over the last few years and over the season will be the top 3.
I believe David Moyes has overachieved with West Ham and Rice leaving, Antonia not being fit and Paqueta a good bet to leave if his ban isn't too long (if found guilty) then they can drop down to 12th -14th.
Brighton have a massive catchment area in the town and the surrounding area and they have continued to buy and sell making vast profits and have definitely punched above their weight ever since Tony 'Midas touch' Bloom showed up.
Watched the west ham game down the club with a couple of west ham fans. One going on about Moyes has to go. When I reminded him they were 8th and won a European Cup last season. His reply was it was only a tinpot cup. Don't stop your lot telling other fans you're champions of Europe was my reply. At least fans of other clubs cheer me up.
Can’t see anyone taking West Ham further than where they are. European runs and 7th in prem is pretty much their ceiling.
Exactly this. It was a horrible defeat yesterday but they're still 8th in the table behind 5 of the big 6, Villa and state-backed Newcastle. They can't feasibly get much higher. They also topped their Europa league group and last season they won a trophy.
Honestly baffles me what their fans expect, same as the Palace mugs who want Parish out.

Remember some....not many mind Charlton fans saying similar stuff.
Not agreeing with those West Ham fans, but it is a sadness of modern football that clubs in the Premier League and other top divisions have such a defined level.
Any team that threatens to break in to the elite group will find themselves losing players, even if they actually succeed briefly. Leicester amazingly won the title in 2015/16, but still lost Kante to Chelsea that summer who had finished 10th that season, but would win it the next.

Bayer Leverkusen are going to fucking suffer for their insubordination this summer
If Moyes goes and they lose Bowen/Paqueta (betting ban to be considered with him of course) I wonder who they'd attract, GO'N despite being an ex player I wonder if he'd leave Wolves, even if they sold Neto.
Interesting, some caller just said that they've got 11 first team players out of contract in June 2024. Makes you wonder how they'll go about replacing them with FFP in mind.

I know they were reported to be in FFP danger before but surely selling Rice for 105m (which is all profit as he was homegrown) has cleared them of any trouble.
I dont think there's any question of them being in trouble with FFP at the moment, but I did hear (can't remember whether I read it, heard it on the radio or was told it) that they have borrowed on the Rice money. Arsenal wouldn't pay it in the instalments that they wanted... so to improve their cash flow, they borrowed on it knowing they had that money coming in over a longer period.
But, they may not be in trouble now but how on earth do you go about replacing 11 players out of contract without massive investment, which may see them fall foul of FFP then.
Didn't realise Moyes was out of contract in June too. They seem to be in a real state of limbo.

Depends who the 11 are i guess, but giving them the benefit of the doubt surely no club would let it get to the point where 11 main players were all out of contract. Who are the 11?

And Girona in Spain.
Girona are part of City Football Group, so any decent players will go to City who have already decided to take young Brazilian winger Savio for next season.

I love modern football. Optimised for your pleasure

Ah.... it all makes sense now, we're all led to believe its some kind of romantic football miracle, the second coming of Leicester City on steroids, but its all finances by the crooked City management.
I know I’ve said before how shit I think Nicolas Jackson is, but I honestly think he’s the biggest waste of money in prem history.
No spatial awareness - it’s like he doesn’t understand what offside is. No guts. Absolute coward. Won’t challenge for anything unless he’s under zero pressure. No finishing. Aside from against nine-man spurs when he got handed three on a plate, he’s been no better than Ladapo.

I feel a bit dirty because I’m cheering Chelsea on.

Terrible excuse for a player.
Gallagher again!
