From the picture in BBC it looks like Gallagher very much enjoyed scoring against Palace. Good. Shame about the 3rd, a narrow last minute defeated by one goal was my ideal.
No points, demoralising, Roy stays in his job.
Hope the 3rd isn't want pushes them to move him on.
I really can't see Palace going down but hoping they lose to Everton and Burnley in their next two so they have to sweat it.

Re: Chelsea, on the question of whether they would sack Poch...
"They can't afford to sack him.
I have just spent the morning with a few footballing peeps including a couple of friends One a very prominent agent and the other an ex financial director of a premier League club. The late breakfast chat was primarily focused on Chelsea on how much of a mess they are in.
Between them they believed Chelsea are somewhere close to £200 million in the red for this season as far as ffp is concerned. With no chance of fixing this in time for the 30th June deadline.
They have a two week gap from when the window opens to submitting their accounts for the season, and everyone knows they are in the mud. No one is going to even give them close to market value for the few players they can actually sell, and it will take a hg fire sale to get them back in line.
Wait it gets better.....
If they get no Europe next season, and with the way they've tried to use long term amortization with high wages to get round it it will leave them in a very similar situation next season as well. It was also brought up that Lukaku and the keeper(whose name escapes me) will also be returning in the Summer and their very high wages will be back on the books.
Sacking MP now will mean his contract still needs to be paid up, plus the wages of whomever else the bring in to replace him and that is far from financially viable.
They have 2 ways of getting out of this mess and both look extremely unlikely.
Firstly they start winning and somehow get into Europe, although only the CL and doing really well in that will help them for next season.
Secondly Everton win their appeal and the point deduction is reduced to a fine setting a precedent. It was however mentioned Everton are using the stadium build and COVID as their main defence of why they deserve special dispensation. Chelsea would need to find an excuse as to why they deserve similar allowances and that is just not going to happen.
I know I’ve said before how shit I think Nicolas Jackson is, but I honestly think he’s the biggest waste of money in prem history.
No spatial awareness - it’s like he doesn’t understand what offside is. No guts. Absolute coward. Won’t challenge for anything unless he’s under zero pressure. No finishing. Aside from against nine-man spurs when he got handed three on a plate, he’s been no better than Ladapo.

Terrible excuse for a player.
Antony for me absolutely awful.
Fair shout.
I guess there will always be a few names up there as biggest waste of money ever, but these two must be in the mix.

Having seen a lot of Chelsea this season, they still have me switching from thinking they are utter shite to just 2/3 players away from competing.
Issue for them is they will be likely blocked by FFP from bringing in 2 decent cb’s and Osimhen which would do it.
And to say it, but that Palace side isn’t a relegation side. One day - but not yet.
Palace without Eza, Guéhi and Olise would be in trouble. Burnley and Sheffield United have gone and if Luton have a bad patch now then the 3 can go straight back down.

Agree with all of this, but isn't the word stripey, @soaped_jones?
Pogba to a certain extent. Imagine him leaving you for Juventus, you sign him for a record fee, he then leaves you again for a free to sign for Juventus again, whilst being shit for the majority of the time at your club
I dont think there's any question of them being in trouble with FFP at the moment, but I did hear (can't remember whether I read it, heard it on the radio or was told it) that they have borrowed on the Rice money. Arsenal wouldn't pay it in the instalments that they wanted... so to improve their cash flow, they borrowed on it knowing they had that money coming in over a longer period.
But, they may not be in trouble now but how on earth do you go about replacing 11 players out of contract without massive investment, which may see them fall foul of FFP then.
Didn't realise Moyes was out of contract in June too. They seem to be in a real state of limbo.
Probably due to the amount of dough they had to lump out on building/renting their ground.

Thats got to be a win-win tonight then
Forgot he was still a Chelsea player. Given their lack of a striker it's madness they loaned him out again and even worse they then replaced him with Jackson.
But i don't think his wages will be on their books next season as they'll just continue to loan him out and get them covered.
One of the Palace banners at the game last night. Sorry but did your club not sign Olise, Eze and Guehi for a combined total of about 45m? A lot of clubs would love to have a transfer policy like that.

They will be in Europe if they win the league cup.

I think what they mean is, " our rivals Brighton are doing better" boohoo. Bunch of babies.

Only the Conference league though, which i guess is better than nothing but the prize money for that is tiny and won't even make a dent in their finances. I think i read that West ham got about 15m in prize money for winning it last season. For comparison City got almost 70m for winning the Champions league.
Get well soon Roy Hodgson: A very decent man who should've walked away at the end of last season after his interim spell. Being a manager at 76 with ungrateful fans is not a good idea.
It's not that daft, Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs and should be in that conversation.
Much like us with JCH, Collins and Abbey in January, Arsenal will pick up the phone; MBappe will listen, smile, say no and Arsenal will tell their fans they were trying and buy someone a lot worse and a lot cheaper.

Unless that conversation is "Well, Mbappe obviously isn't going to Arsenal, he wouldn't want to and they won't pay the money anyway" then no they shouldn't.
