  • Sam Northeast 154no.

    Should have stayed at Kent
That was with the Kookaburra ball, which made batting easy once 15 overs had passed
    Northeast currently on 245* (342)

Leaning out first ball - strangled down the legside and caught by Rew off the bowling of Leonard

    70-3
  • If you get caught down the leg side you should forfeit your second innings
  • Denly caught at slip off the bowling of Renshaw of all people in the last over before lunch for 19 (32)

    Compton 32* (71)

    100-4 from 59-0

    283* now.

Glamorgan 507-3 after being put in by Middlesex skipper Toby Roland-Jones   :D
  • Compton out doing what we don't expect him to do - pulls a short ball of Gregory's down the throat of Leonard for 32 (84)

    114-5
  • Season is well and truly back
  • Northeast now on 329*, as Glamorgan pass 600.

As he's the captain , an interesting decision as to when he declares.

    620-3 declared

Northeast 335* (412) but nowhere near his highest ever FC score of 410

  • 50 partnership between Finch and Evison off 55 balls in 38 minutes

    169-5
  • 50 (73) for Finch.

I have nothing but praise for Finch. He's a superb example of a someone who has been "released" from professional sport but been absolutely determined to fight his way back and he's actually re-invent himself to achieve this in becoming a batsman/keeper as opposed to the batsman/seamer which he was at Sussex. Not only was he prepared to play for a season for the 2nd XI before earning a contract but was also happy to turn out for the Academy side that played club sides on Sundays a couple of seasons ago. Hope he kicks on from here.

    193-5

    Evison 35* (47)

  • Having praised Finch, he promptly pulls one straight to Banton at mid-wicket for 54 (85)

    207-6
  • Agar goes for a duck. Gilchrist in to prove me wrong. Hopefully.

    209-7

50 (67) for Evison. One of our best signings in the last three or four years.

    216-7

Gilchrist is bowled trying to pull a ball from Goldsworthy for 2 (22)

    222-8
  • The fact that Parkinson is coming in at 10 doesn't say a lot for Garrett's ability with the bat!

    235/8 at tea, Evison 58 (79) and Parkinson 7 (15)
  • All out for 284, Evison high scoring on 85. Half century for Harry Finch too.

  • Great recovery that. Evison needs to improve his bowling, but is a decent batsman

Agreed and he's probably batting too low at the moment because he's invariably having to nurse the tail.

Parkinson's knock of 25 was only 5 short of his highest score from 103 innings in the professional game. He should be banging on Walks' door demanding that he bats above Gilchrist!
  • Northeast's unbeaten 335 is the highest individual score in a first class match at Lord's, going past Graham Gooch's 333 against India in 1990.

He was definitely aware of that record when he declared!
  • "Despite the best efforts of Club staff & ECB technicians overnight & this morning, we're unable to provide sound on the Live Stream for this match." We do seem to suffer more than most other counties with technology failings.

  • Got permission to attend the morning session. Let's have some wickets! Bloody missed this :)

I can't get the stream to work either!
  • Lovely bowling by Agar so far. DBD puts Dickson down when on 4. Next ball he hits him on the pads but a bit high

  • Garrett with a debut wicket - Dickson gone. 25/1
  • Evison replaces Agar at the other end
