And he didn't like it either - he was another to be "strangled" down the legside but, in his case, it looks like the ball brushed his pad on the way through and not his bat.

    Muyeye gone too

    10-2

Weather looks improved for the day. Kent looking to grab defeat from what looked like a guaranteed draw

    50 up folks!

Looked in on the BBC and saw 10-0. Five minutes later, and it's 10-2.
Another combo Kent in summer/Charlton in winter sport fest beckons.

Meanwhile the 2s are playing Essex. We have a few triallists in our side - Nic Keast, an opener who bowls off-spin and who has played for Derbyshire 2s and minor counties cricket, Ross Richardson, a batsman/keeper (though not keeping in this game) formerly at Surrey but who has played 2s cricket for a couple of other counties too and who was at Blackheath last season and the aforementioned Jack Carney from Lancashire who will be keeping.

    Essex are 122-2

Realistically, Essex stand the best chance of forcing a win , with Notts 4 down already and well behind.

68-2 at lunch. Need to bat for at least another session and a half to save the game.

    Notts 57-6

Sam Cook just isn't fast enough for England. We need someone who bowls 87 and can't control the direction! That's what wins you Ashes series!!!

50 partnership between DBD and Denly means the scores are level with seven wickets still in hand.

come on plucky Kent. No silly collapsing please

Been watching Essex. MrOneLung's nephew has also been bowling very well - a constant threat, but as is usual with a higher economy rate as he tries more short and very full stuff. As a duo they're the stuff of legend. Cook has it on a string

50 for Denly. The players need to use today as a chance to really get into form

Denly trying to catch the eye of Mr Stokes and Mr Key, I see…

Both will be eyeing up centuries before the close of play. Joe has looked good from the start, while DBD has played himself into touch, so a useful innings for him.

Really impressive bowling performance on a day where batting has looked pretty easy elsewhere

What’s the earliest time we can shake hands on the draw ?

I believe that convention is at the start of the final hour of play but I might well be wrong in that respect.

Denly's batted three times this season and has scored two tons without being dismissed by the opposition
