    Well that's an achievement in itself - Stokes follows both Bairstow and Root in getting out with the score on 175 and horribly wasting a review too!

    On six occasions in this Series, Bairstow has got to 25 but not made more than 38 in averaging 22.11. That is T20 and not Test batting.

    197 v 199 but to be fair to Stokes he has had a couple of pea rollers. No excuse though for the overall performance of our batsmen. Not converting 20s and 30s into 50s or turning 50s into 100s. Crawley has been our best and by far our most consistent batter but on four occasions he has got to 60 but failed to reach 80 each time.

    There is something not very England since Cook retired about us having so many excellent opening partnerships between Crawley and Duckett but then 3 downwards failing far more often than not.

    I am hoping Crawley follows Roots career where he was known for getting 50’s and not converting and then suddenly started smashing in the tons

    It was unlucky but for christ sake make an attempt to stop it dribbling on. Might not have got there but just limply watching it was infuriating
