    Beyond that i can't see us signing anyone else unless a player leaves (like May). Highly unlikely we're going to be making another 5/6/7 signings, especially when Jones has previously said he wanted a smaller, more streamlined squad.

    Edun I think will go and Ness, Asiimwe I can see going on loan. Or back ups/cup games . I still think we’ll bring in 7/8 players after the way Jones spoke about the squad at the end of the season . The hard part I think is moving on players

    Wasn't referring to the squad size limit, i meant in terms of players that would be considered part of the first team squad. Jones said he wants a smaller squad so i don't see us starting the season with something like a 27-28 man squad.

    I do agree that we need some better signings of course, but unless we can move a few on i don't see an influx of lots more new signings.

    Jones said we'll be looking to bring in 2 GKs. Last season he talked about wanting a 25 man squad, 3 being GKs. I'm expecting a few departures too, so it's hard not to see there being at least one or two more joining after Mitchell, a new striker and another new GK.

    I think if May leaves then the below is a likely outcome in my opinion. Would mean 6 more in on top of Mitchell.  The remaining pieces of the jigsaw are first teamers IMO and need to be top quality.

    I am not NJ rates any of our CBs as none of them played much end of last season.  Subject to fitness I think Sean Hutchinson for a year contract would be an astute move.

    Jones said we'll be looking to bring in 2 GKs. Last season he talked about wanting a 25 man squad, 3 being GKs. I'm expecting a few departures too, so it's hard not to see there being at least one or two more joining after Mitchell, a new striker and another new GK.
    one or two after Mitchell and we can forget about top 6 . We need atleast 6-8
    The pessimist in me says if Rotherham can bring players in why can't we.
    The optimist is that Jones has a bigger budget and can be nore selective.

    I find the timing of this new supporter meeting on 27th June very interesting. Almost as if they’re going to announce something they know we aren’t going to like in between the announcements of new players signing. I get the sense they’re looking to use this to justify their decisions. Maybe I am being sceptical, but would be ideal for them if we signed a few players early next week and it makes them look great. I just think the rumours/news of May could overwhelm the whole meeting.

    Or they could be about to announce a few that they think will have us all praiding them. Yours is far more plausible.

    True, he's never stated how many players he wants in & maybe he's happy with just the ones we've signed plus Mitchell, a GK and A.N.Other.

    But if so its not enough & we will struggle massively. But all we can do is wait & see.  
    It is possible he doesn't want many more signings. We have:

    3 keepers
    LB: Small, Edun, Edwards
    CB: REG, Jones, Gillesphey, Mitchell, Ness
    RB: Ramsay, Watson, Asiimwe
    Midfield: Berry, Coventry, Anderson, Taylor
    Wingers: Campbell 
    Strikers: May, Chuks, Leaburn, Kanu

    I've not included the younger kids or people like Fraser who will likely go.

    So that's already a 23 man squad when Mitchell signs. Assumption would be that we will definitely add a striker and then i guess we probably need a wide attacker/winger and an attacking midfielder.

    Beyond that i can't see us signing anyone else unless a player leaves (like May). Highly unlikely we're going to be making another 5/6/7 signings, especially when Jones has previously said he wanted a smaller, more streamlined squad.

    That squad is far too similar to the one which ended the season 
    Even assuming Edwards is better than Edun and Berry is better than Fiorini/ Bakinson , the squad isn’t any stronger, having lost Dobson.

    I said I assume he will be .  I’ve never seen him play .
