    It was by IT20 standards.
    120 would have been decent.

  • This tournament has been dreadful in widening the appeal of the sport. The pitches have been poor, It's completely behind pay walls for people to see, usa have it on some obscure channel. it shouldn't even be played over there at this time of year due to the local weather trends but is as its all done for the Indians who unsurprisingly would go through if it rains again today due to topping their group. No reserve day due to making sure the scheduling suits Indian TV.
It's obviously to suit Indian TV as that is by the largest audience, but if they'd come second in their group the timing would've still been the same and in that case a rained off game would've sent them home. So they can't really be blamed for the poor scheduling and no reserve day.

Organisers should've just tightened the schedule a bit so there was an extra day after the second semi final.
  • Numerous joke pitches. Bad weather because set in rainy season. Poor scheduling unless you're India who were guaranteed time slot for their semi. Refusal to grant visas to Afghan players. Only reserve day for one of the semis and not the other.

And this is meant to be the ultimate international competition, set in the USA to ignite the interests of another group of people? More likely to have put them off than generated additional fans.

  • For all the vast amounts of money in the game at the top level, the pitches still seem very hit and miss. Roads giving bowlers no chance, minefields giving average bowlers far too much help, or so slow that everyone struggles.

That's not true, India would've played at Guyana regardless of where they finished in their group. So long as they reached the semis it would've been at this time & in Guyana.

I think the point Chris is making is that, if India had finished second in their group and the SF had been rained off, they would have gone out.

This is farcical. India knew where they'd be playing their semi-final all along, wherever they finished. The BBC commentary team wont get there in time - not that they necessarily get accommodation as India had pre-booked it!

I hope to goodness India don't win - if not to England, lose yet another final, again!

This sounds like a euphemism for Mehmets laptop
  •  Looks like it's drizzling. Nasser Hussain and Co on Star Sports' coverage are under umbrellas. Pitch is covered and a few more covers are being brought in around the run-up areas. It's gotten really gloomy too, thick clouds above. Very few people in the stands as of now. Square covers coming on as I type, India's players are back in the dressing room waiting. About ten minutes later, Roller says it's raining reasonably hard and suspects the toss might be delayed.

Toss officially delayed. Not currently raining though, he adds. An umpire is out with a staff member next to the covers chatting.
  • Inspection planned at 16.15.
