    Mathematically Bangladesh aren't eliminated.
  • Bet365 clearly think Australia are out because they've already settled two bets of mine - one loser (Starc top Aussie bowler) and one winner (Head top Aussie bat). They haven't settled an Afghanistan bet - another probable loser (Naveen-Ul-Haq top bowler)

Technically yeah, the night of 26th/27th. It’s on the 26th local time. :-)

Also true, Bangladesh can still qualify for the semi final if they win by roughly 60 or more runs or chase the Afghanistan target before 13 overs.
  • Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat
    struggling 62-1 off 13 overs
  • 93/4 off 17 overs
  • 115/5 off 20 overs
  • 12.1 overs Bangladesh need to do it in to get to the semis
but it’s pissing down so could have some D/L action
  • If the scores are level and Bangladesh hit a 6 on  12.4 overs they can go through 🥴

    Bangladesh 77-5 after 10 overs

39 required from 60 balls (39 from 13 balls if they want to qualify for the semis).

    80-7 after 11 overs

36 required from 54 balls to win the match. Afghanistan need three wickets to win and knock out Australia.

They’ve gone off for rain with Bangladesh two runs behind the required score.

The Afghan first slip went down like he’d be shot faking a hamstring injury so they couldn’t bowl any more balls before going off. Hilarious. Aussies are fuming.

    Better luck next time Australia?
  • Unfortunately they are already back out in the middle to resume play…
  • 82-7 after 12 overs

An over was lost due to the short rain delay. Target reduced from 116 to 114.

    32 required from 42 balls.

    88-7 after 13 overs

    26 required from 36 balls
  • 91-7 off 14 overs

    23 from 30 required
  • 92-8 off 14.2 overs

Guess who’s got the wicket? The bloke who went down with a bad hamstring injury fifteen minutes ago.
  • 94-8 off 15 overs

    20 required from 24 balls

    BIG WICKET!!

    105-9 off 17.4 overs

Crucially it’s bumped the DLS par score up by three runs

    9 required from 8 balls

Umpires have taken them off again.

Last ball to be bowled was the wicket ball. Bangladesh are three runs behind par score.
  • They’re coming back out less than two minutes later.

  • I know they only got close because of him but ultimately you have to blame the opener there. When you only need a run a ball, why did he take a single with 9 balls left and put the tail ender on strike?

    Seems pretty stupid to me.
