Very smart from Southgate to wait until the 96th minute to allow England to score and take the sting out of the Slovakians. He's heard the criticism that we sit back when we take the lead so he's had us go behind until the dying seconds to avoid that. Then getting us to take the lead early in extra time to really hurt that Slovakian morale and then allow the natural defensive instincts to take over in the second half of ET allowed for easy passage to the next round. Masterclass.

What was with their manager shoving Rice for offering a handshake?

We were strong, we had grown
And now I see Rice ready for war
Jude good as before, Kane certain to score
    And Pickford screaming
Like he's got something up his bum, creaming

Showing a bit of passion and wanting to get it off his chest with the ref. Understandable considering they were seconds away from knocking the favourites out.

    Bad loser mate.

You'd think these people would've spent enough time in sport to take a loss on the chin.

Harry Kane slightly stretching the truth i think.

"The long-throw we did (for the equaliser) was something we worked on."

Yes Harry, i'm sure a miracle strike out of nowhere from Bellingham was definitely something you worked on all week.........
Looking at that performance it’s hard to actually imagine what they have worked on.

When he scored his goal he was giving it the big 'un by shouting 'Who Else?' into the crowd as well.

After playing 90 minutes of one of the worst performances he's ever played. The lack of self-awareness is something else.

On the TV before the game, the US studio compared England to the Dallas Cowboys of international football (soccer).

As an English Dallas Cowboys fan it broke my heart because it’s so true.
Add Charlton to it for the perfect bloody hat trick!

Kent for the four up!  (Even though I was born in bloody Surrey!!!)

Bellingham responding to the question of who writes his scripts with 'I do'. Mate, if you're writing your own scripts I'd recommend not having yourself be shit for 95 minutes before scoring a good goal. You've got the pen, go wild! Maybe a hattrick in the first ten. Some of us have blood pressure.

We almost need that sort of cocky confidence in the team though at times - We probably wouldnt be facing Switzerland in the next round without it.

So he can do what he wants, if he can back it up like that.

  • Southgate now has 6 days to work on things for the next game, which is quite a big gap in tournament football. Is anyone confident he will actually change anything (aside from the enforced change as Guehi is suspended)?

Somehow he was awarded UEFA man of the match. The Real Madrid aura is really something.

What's that mean for Dartford game? As England is next Saturday at 5pm!
I don’t think any of them are in the squad mate so game should be fine.
Walked into that in fairness 😂

How he can watch that and not change something would be startling.
The front 5 offer no options for the back line. There is no out. I lost count of the amount of times the back four had the ball at their feet.looked forward. Dragged the ball back and went sideways or more often backwards
For me the elephant in the room is either Bellingham or Foden.
Foden sees lots of the ball but doesn't seem to have the ability in an England shirt to find a forward pass or Drive it forward.
Bellingham also largely anonymous. It's clear they are cancelling eachother out. Can't see him leavig Bellingham out, especially after tonight.
We only seem to be using 50-60% of the oppsoitions half due to the lack of width.
Do that against the Swiss and he'll come really unstuck

Foden has to go at this point. He's been given 4 games and his positioning has made the team worse overall, even if he hasn't always been the worst player.

Either a straight swap for a left-footed winger, or roll the dice and try that 3-5-2 formation we turned the game around with.

Saka and Trent as the wing backs seems an easy choice with Kane + 1 up front.

Bellingham when dropped deeper was more beneficial. Saka at LB kind of worked. No worse than Trippier.

Awful interview in the press room after. Not sure this 'us and them' fans v players divide is something they should keep pushing.

What I've been saying all tournament, Saka left wing back.

More difficult now with Guehi out, but still better than Trippier left back.

Had one eye on the football & the other on the last few overs of the latest Kent debacle ....not much to choose between them until the final whistle blew in Germany.

Don't you just love "relaxing" watching sport !

Gomez or Konsa will be fine to stand in for Guehi
