            Show jumping:
After Ben Maher and Harry Charles the pressure on the last rider was immense and Scott Brash and Hello Jefferson were cool and foot perfect.
Brash comes across as a modest man.

Fleetwood absolutely flying in the golf now too!0

Does anyone know why the sailing kicks off with a static start?
Part of the excitement is missed. Boats coming in from different angles, various speeds, and as the clock counts down, change the angle of wind and sail with immediate acceleration up to full speed.
Also, races are far too short. There is no opportunity to gamble on taking course on the other side of a beat, with a view to getting a different wind vector.1

Madness in the sailing. the Netherlands team got lost!0
-
Sailing seems mad and random, quite a laugh.0

            they moved the finish!?!?
I had no idea who was in the lead from above with all the graphics, how the hell did they know which way to go!?

The horses should get medals too.1

the horses aren't necessarily from the country of the riders though.....BrentfordAddick said:The horses should get medals too.

Don't be so ridiculous.BrentfordAddick said:The horses should get medals too.
You couldn't find a podium that could accommodate numerous horses at slightly different levels.3

Hideki blown up big time on the 18th. Looking like Fleetwood will be leading after first two rounds.1

I could be wrong as i had no clue what was going on but to me it seemed like Netherlands got lost, went the wrong way and somehow ended up with gold.suzisausage said:they moved the finish!?!?

Or perhaps as I alluded to above, they gambled on going over to the opposite side of the reach, got better wind, and came home first.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Michaela Walsh, boxing for Ireland at the moment, won a gold medal for Northern Ireland at the last Commenwealth games.0

Joint 1st on -11. I fear Fleetwood's putting will let him down. Always does under pressure. Lets see where he is after 9 holes on Sunday.cafcpolo said:Hideki blown up big time on the 18th. Looking like Fleetwood will be leading after first two rounds.
Good job Rory is playing for ireland this week. No need to agonise over his poor play this weekend.0

The female rowing commentator has the most annoying high-pitched schreech of a voice. I'm sure I recognise it from football on the BBC. I have to turn the volume down or off when it's her commentating.Hal1x said:Just won a silver in the rowing, with the world's most annoying BBC commentary team who gave it to the UK at 200m.
Actually I feel the standard of BBC commentators has been pish-poor this year, and I really cant see how Jeanette Kwakye warrants a sofa position. Shes no Des Lynham, more Des O'Connor with her fake laughter.
reminds me of the old Clubcall stretching how long you had to wait on the phone.0

so are the majority of our 50m pools narrower than an olympic one? or not deep enough?SporadicAddick said:
Plus 41 other 50 metre pools, including University of Bath and Manchester Aquatic Centre which aren't too bad at turning out decent swimmers. We are fortunate that in the Olympics they swim lengths rather than widths.Friend Or Defoe said:
The UK has 14 Olympic size pools (50x25m) with a 15th being built in Cambridge. Paris has 20.SporadicAddick said:
Indeed, just the 796 public swimming pools to train at, including 53 that are Olympic length (50m).Friend Or Defoe said:Impressive how well we've done in the swimming with the lack of facilities we have.
Plus 796 other pools, the vast majority of which host swimming clubs that build the strength we have in the sport.0
