The worst Charlton team of my life, no bones about it
Would be interested to know how long you have been supporting for. I’ve been supporting for just over 20 years so the last of the Prem years. I feel like this is the worst team I’ve ever seen for us. I don’t know how but this seems worse than last year.
I have been supporting for nigh on 70 years, believe me this is the worst I have seen, and I have seen some crap.
I have been supporting since 77 and this is clearly the worst team we've ever had by a country mile.

I’m 33, been a ST holder since I was 9. This is the worst mob I have ever seen. Jones is no improvement on Appleton.
I am 67, been supporting Charlton for 56 years and this is up there with the worst I have seen.

  • Errr what happened i only went to make a cuppa for a couple of minutes Bloody Shameful
So it's your fault is it...🤦‍♂️

Richie Wellens wouldn’t be the worse shout. At least his teams knock it about.
No thanks, thats a proper League One style appointment where you're happy with surviving in League One each year
I'll be happy to survive in it this year.
But thats all we're doing at the moment, just surviving.

I still believe we're turning into the Oldham of the South

Ex-Premier League club in a region with much larger clubs than us, continuous Managerial appointments that are the wrong choice, with bad ownership on top, whilst the paddle desperately against the downward current - Oh and they've had Richie Wellens as Manager

Do managers get the sack losing a tin pot cup match ?

You've got to laugh - it takes away the anger!

Real positive tonight though - Jones should be one match closer to his P45.
  • Do managers get the sack losing a tin pot cup match ?
    Probably not
  •  Two years ago. It’ll go lower!
  • That's it for me,55 years of support and I have just watched the 2 most crap 90 mins of football I can ever remember! We have had poor teams in my time but at least they tried, this mob are an insult to us and the badge! none of them give a shit and as for the tossers in charge!!! Words fail me, please just let the club die, this slow death is taking a mental toll on all of us!
    P.S. please lose on Saturday!

Can we start a trend ?
  • Tonight is an all time low for me, how much more can we take before the protests start, must be very near.
  • Complete lack of cohesion in Jones’s team and there was me thinking we had a good pre season for once
  • Things are going to turn toxic on saturday

Losing at League Two; Hartlepool on pens in the Quarter-Finals a few years ago, with Ben Watson playing his last game was probably the lowest point for me

My first game was Feb-81 (a defeat ... but at least it was against one of the best sides in Europe at the time, Ipswich Town).

Since then I've seen plenty of Charlton sides devoid of skill and talent but they've all had heart and application.

This side has a reasonable amount of skill in the kit bag ... but no heart, no determination, no desire. And that's a bigger crime in my book.

Is it all down to the cockwomble in charge? The players will have to accept some responsibility for their performances but I suspect a lot of their apathy is aimed at the manager.

    Sad times.

Its inevitable now, you can't see any glimmer of hope, nothing. We look clueless, players don't know what they're doing. Attendances will fall off a cliff if he stays.

    No ifs, no buts!

The only problem is that the anger is turning to apathy and a couldn't give a f*ck reaction.

Beaten by the mighty Crawley and Orient…this has to stop. NJ is definitely not the answer…shame but there can be no more excuses for his hoof ball. I’m sure the players are not comfortable with his tactics because I just can’t believe these players are so substandard in technique and ability. Suddenly Leaburn has been turned into a Div 4 player. Surely this is not possible ?
  • I watch Charlton and think they can't get any worse and every week they prove me wrong. How have players gone backwards so much with all the coaches we now have.

Even a blind man can see the players have no faith in what Jones is trying.
    He has to go
  • Let’s hope Gavin was watching…and hope he has the balls to tell them this really isn’t working

This has a relegation feel about the squad. They are dropping like a stone. There is NOTHING to convince me that there are 4 worse teams in the league than us. The form guide says we are bottom 2-3 over the last 10 games. If Jones thinks he's going to win half the games to make a respectable mid table finish he's deluded.

That was an opportunity to give the fringe players a run out, but we had the lions share of our first team at some point during the game. A dreadful performance and the outcome is yet another bloody nose from a league minnow, at home.

There is nothing that Jones can say tonight other than he is embarrassed at what HE has created. A team devoid of quality, skill, and effort. Orient as we're Crawley, much better than us. That isn't acceptable.

We have no right to win anything. We have to earn it, and right now I wouldn't give 10p for our squad. Move some on in January...... Who the he'll would want them? We are going to be saddled with another worthless squad that we can't shift, and are likely to have to pay clubs to take the players.

I think the club should start employing therapists to offer fans support post matches, as there are going to be plenty of people needing it, if the season carries on like this.

I kept hoping that Jones would come good, but now think that the Toxic floodgates are about to open.

I said Saturday, Jones has the next few weeks to either earn the money for a January rebuild, or the club give him the boot. He's not looking like he'll make Christmas at this rate.

I honestly thought that Jones would push on this season and we would really do well. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
You wasn't alone mate, loads of us bought into it, can't believe that when he came here he played attacking football, this season it's all about defending and they've stopped doing that now.
  • This is definitely a new low since I’ve supported Charlton for 30yrs or so.. extremely poor football, no energy in the players, no tactics, manager can go or stay - I think the end is still the same. it’s very sad - I’m considering not even bothering on Saturday against a really decent football team (yet Crawley & Orient have both pissed all over us, so Christ knows what Mansfield will do) I might go to referee a vets game instead.
  • Do managers get the sack losing a tin pot cup match ?
Doesn't matter what cup it was, it was another game in which we were absolutely awful. I thought we might have turned a corner after winning at Burton and easily beating Walsall but we've got even worse since then.

If there were some visible signs of Jones actually turning it around then i'd say keep him, but i'm afraid he's done. The tactics are shit, the performances are shit, the players are shit and the attendances are shit, so the owners simply have to act now.
