Reality check… we are no longer the sleeping giant who should be in a higher league. Those days are gone. Like many teams… that is well in the past. We are a crap mid table L1 team who think they are better than they are.
We are where we deserve to be. We need to adjust our expectations are accept we are just a mid table ish L1 team…… We are not superior to Crawley or Orient etc. The old days of Prem, Div 1 are gone.

We have a budget Crawley and Orient can only dream of though. That surely should show on the pitch?

Not if you dont get your Recruitment right in the first place
For a very long time it has been a joyless experience following Charlton. No excitement, no fun, just a boring , energy sapping waste of time and money. Enough is enough. The boycott starts now. Let's see how the owners, smt and Jones respond when absolutely no one turns up, home or away. We can force the issue with our absence.
NJ: "I can't remember [being carved open as much as that]. With the greatest of respect, I've played against Man City and they didn't have a shot on target. To have 16, 17 shots against you against, with the greatest of respect, Leyton Orient, it's baffling."#cafc
NJ: "But we made nine changes. A lot of players who haven't played. Potts, REG. People who haven't played. That showed tonight because we were so far off it."#cafc
NJ: "Every time we turned the ball over they looked like they could score. Whether that was desire, structure, athleticism, we were so far off tonight. We are statistically the best side in the league, defensively, but you never would have thought that tonight." #cafc
NJ: "I've learned a lot tonight. The squad I've inherited, players I've inherited that, you know, you can't change everything overnight. That's proved today. I've learned a lot tonight."#cafc
Love his Man City quote... that was his one good performance in months of shite as Southampton boss. He'll be in the National League South as Welling have 30 shots against his next club and saying 'I ended Birmingham's unbeaten run at Charlton'

Not wishing to disturb your party but the whole reason to support any football club is to see them progress, from the youngsters through to the first team. If Derby, Oxford. Portsmouth and Ipswich, similar sized clubs had followed your mantra then they would be languishing where we are, they didn't and that's because the made progressive choices, there is enough in this squad to do a lot better and with a few correct additions and departures, give it a go, it's down to the manager that we are not doing that.

At least Jones isn’t fluffing the pillow. Ominous when a manager sounds that downbeat though and defeatist. I wonder if conversations are being had?
What I cant understand is the fact (others have said it already), is the fact that we looked as though we'd started to turn the corner against Burton and then Walsall - A week and a half is a long time in Football, and in the three games since we've looked pretty average, although I cant talk for the Lincoln game as didnt get to see it.
For all the talk of "he's lost the dressing room" it doesnt make sense for that to have happened so quickly after those two mentioned performances, even Exeter and Huddersfield before that, the results werent great, but we had the chances to win or at the very least draw them, it just so happened that players didnt take their chances.
What annoys me most is that I’ll turn up at The Valley on Saturday full of optimism but knowing in reality I am going to be served up with another pile of shite.

From the starting 11 only AMB, REG Edun and Leaburn were Inherited players - 4 - not included Josh as he wasn't on the scene last season. We then had Taylor, Gillesphey TC and Kanu coming on later in the game - mainly, for his players.
Potts Docherty, Berry, Godden - all big summer signings started - Dixon we won't judge too harsh as clearly not singed by Jones and settling in - A Campbell subbed on and Hylton sat on the bench. Small is also considered a Jones signing from last Jan.
6 players used last night were signed by Jones with a further 2 new to this season.
Most of the starters/ players are your boys Jones, you're the one failing us mate.

I will say this again. No point being good defensively if you are crap going forward. League one defenders are always going to make mistakes so trying to win by keeping clean sheets is just folly.
I keep saying it......you have to score goals to win games. Defences dont win titles.....scoring goals do.
Tonight is an all time low for me, how much more can we take before the protests start, must be very near.
But what good would protests be? We spent years protesting to get Roland out, in very inventive and differrent ways, yet he's still 'here'. What good would protests do now?
Don't know Arsentat's, wasn't advocating them just predicting them, as we can all see we are on a very slippery slope with no end in sight...guess we are just accepting the inevitable without some sort of fight...🤷♂️

Interesting if that's meant in a negative sense.

The question is, which ones can form a successful, cohesive team with the determination to fight for one another and our club ....
But foremost in my mind is whether that can be achieved under NJ.
Sadly, it appears to have reached the point where the answer is a loud NO.
The point of no return for me, I'm afraid.
And uppermost in these players' minds must be their future prospects under this enigmatic man who is clearly "more mouth than trousers " so to speak.
Their salvation & futures in the game could be resurrected under another manager, I'm sure.
But it has to begin NOW if our season & their immediate futures have any chance of improvement.
Anyone know Gavin Carter's number ?
