  • Does seem to be a new low this season - at least Garner was trying to play football but without the full backing of the recruitment team - Appleton was clueless but had CBT and May to bail him out but after a promising start last season Jones has taken us lower than I can remember in over 50 years of supporting us. At least the piss poor teams of the early 70's could create and score plenty of goals - this lot play like they have never seen each other before - can't tackle or if we do manage to win a tackle or interception, give it straight back to the opposition - can't string more than 2 passes together - can't recall a team that gives the ball away as much as us. Final ball usually dreadful but early on both Small and Edun put some decent crosses in but our static attack wouldn't move. Leaburn seems incapable of any hold up play with his back to goal - so easily tackled. Tactics, formation and game plan are non-existent looks like they sit around in training having a smoke!

Pressure must be massively mounting on the SMT as well as Jones now. Need a clean sweep at the top of the club. Lets hope these wealthy businessmen are as ruthless at Charlton as you expect they are in their own businesses.

It's not working out with NJ, how much more decline before the club act. Surely a CAFC clubman stepping in as caretaker manager is the sensible next step. Give time for the club to figure out the restructuring they need to do, and find a new permanent manager to fit in.

I'm not normally a sadistic Bastard but on Xmas day when Nathan Jones is in Church he should receive a text wishing him a merry Christmas and a happy new year back home in Wales with a half year Taffy season ticket for the Bluebirds.

That's probably what Nathan will be 🙏🏻 for as he will receive a year's pay off if not more if he gets the tin tack.

65 yrs supporting this club through thick and thin, this is, sadly, the worst squad I've ever seen. To many players over the hill, youngsters trying to learn their trade and not ready for  these games yet.
Goalkeepers are poor, back up defenders, except Potts, poor, midfield not working. Strikers non-existent!

What he's done to Small should be a sackable offence on its own!

Would be interesting to know what Stoke fans think of Jones. Did he do the same thing there and stick rigidly to one dimensional hoofball?
He’s very much looking like a busted flush, which is massively disappointing.

I remember when we lost Stockley and Washington to injury and we struggled to score goals but we still played good football up to the box just didn't have the finishers to round it off. Now we have an abundance of forwards and absolutely starve them of chances and creativity, I actually can't believe what I am witnessing because it doesn't make any sense.

I’ve done a lot of seasons and I’ll probably go down there until I drop, but in truth it’s hard to remember us looking so inept, week after week, at this level. A couple of thoughts on tonight, for the second week running we fell to bits after multiple subs, we were at least doing a little bit in the first half; secondly, we seem to have loads of midfield players but no midfield. Last 20 minutes, Orient were walking through us.

The worst Charlton team of my life, no bones about it
Would be interested to know how long you have been supporting for. I’ve been supporting for just over 20 years so the last of the Prem years. I feel like this is the worst team I’ve ever seen for us. I don’t know how but this seems worse than last year.
I have been supporting for nigh on 70 years, believe me this is the worst I have seen, and I have seen some crap.
I've been a Charlton fan for75 years and this is as bad as I can remember. Pathetic.
    The manager has to go.

  • Tonight is an all time low for me, how much more can we take before the protests start, must be very near.

But what good would protests be? We spent years protesting to get Roland out, in very inventive and differrent ways, yet he's still 'here'. What good would protests do now?
  • has he gone yet ?
  • I genuinely think all of us on here can see that Potts is a better commanding left sided centre back than Gillesphey… why can’t NJ see it too?

If only we had a way of getting the view of someone connected to Stoke City FC on here ...

Because Potts has been injured, and is only just coming back to full fitness, hence why he got subbed off

Err I think you'll find that Potts has been out injured which is why he hasn't played

to be fair he has been injured most of this season. Luton supporting friend warned me that Potts is always injured when I said we'd signed him - he thought we'd be lucky to see him play.

People blaming ownership are a little skewed. The squad is more than capable. Certainly needs improving in a couple of areas with outgoings but it can do better.

Issue is the manager at this point. He CANNOT get a good, consistent tune out of the these players.

We won't get rid of him yet but I wouldn't ne surprised if conversations are being had.

I switched off as the Champions league multi game has quality and excitement, which are no part of the current Charlton 1st team. But I hooked back to see the O's two goals. I'm finding other things to do on Saturday as the team loom disinterested, and sadly, seems like other fans are going the same way. Poor recruitment, poor management, and the owners have a problem to solve. I wanted Jones to succeed but he's just a muppet.

NJ: "I can't remember [being carved open as much as that]. With the greatest of respect, I've played against Man City and they didn't have a shot on target. To have 16, 17 shots against you against, with the greatest of respect, Leyton Orient, it's baffling."#cafc

NJ: "But we made nine changes. A lot of players who haven't played. Potts, REG. People who haven't played. That showed tonight because we were so far off it."#cafc

Couldn’t agree more mate, 67 for me and struggling to think of a more pathetic bunch than this lot. Coupled with a Manager who’s lost the plot assuming there was one apart from hoofball and an SMT that’s only interested in lining their own pockets we really are plumbing the depths.

I think we might actually be sh!t or not, it's hard to tell with Jones. We just look, generally, broken. We saw some nice and plenty crosses so the option of some wing play does exist in the squad at least.

    Midfield was pointless and wasted.

    * Edit: the formation, for the first 20 mins just looked like a confused mess and it probably was.

Potts, Small and Edun played well considering, the latter two link up like a couple of players in a football team, which is why we'll never see it in a league game. Potts played like a guy proving he's fit and ready.

Outplayed by a rotated Orient side, they could have had the match sewn up before half time if they had placed their shots better.

Jones.... Don't persist to the end of the season, just give it to Pearce and Fleming to see us stutter over the line, can't take more of his bollocks at all.
