  • See you down at The Valley on Boxing Day? Jones the Moan and his bunch of football imposters ruin my Saturdays and the occasional Tuesday night, they are not spoiling my Christmas too. Jokers.

I’m laid up at home with a stomach bug, shivers, the s**** and feel wiped.

Sounds like I had a better afternoon than anyone at the game
Get well soon mate, better to have it now than over Christmas 👍🏻

Charlton in poor form under pressure for a positive result and Mansfield having lost four of their last five meant this was always likely to be a dud at The Valley. Both sides struggled throughout to make anything out of their numerous chances, but it was the Charlton side that had the better of the second half and will feel more aggrieved as they should have had a penalty when Marcus Leaburn was wrestled down in the box.

We’re not good enough to beat Mansfield Town, nor more than half of the League One clubs we’re up against. Sad.

    Over to you.
    Who's Marcus Leaburn?
  • Another awful performance bar a decent 15 minute spell at the start of the second half. If Mansfield could finish, they would have been out if sight at HT. Ref was poor but they all are at this level.

Empty ground, I had fans near me arguing about Jones. It just feels like a bad place to be at the moment.

What iis also concerning is how much our youngsters seem to be regressing. We thought the likes of TC and Leaburn, and to a lesser extent Anderson, were destined for better things early on this season, but on current form I don't even  think a top 6 team in our league would start them.
  • I'm amazed there were 14,000 there , maybe Charlton are on to something. Come and see how shit football can be !

  • could and should have been 2 or 3 down by HT, which would have made the marginal 2nd half “improvement” irrelevant. But it was an improvement…….against a very, very low bar.
  • I don't understand all the doom & gloom on here.

Just this week, Jones said that we could be in the top 6 by the new year.  :|
He did say Tuesday night after the Orient defeat that “It won’t happen again” referring to the lack luster display

Well it just has happened again so let’s see how he gets out of that one
  • Worth the 10 pounds just to see Coventry's lovely pass inside their fullback that put Small? away.
First time all season I've seen us play a ball like that.
    Marvelous.
This, and Campbell's flick to put Leaburn in
  • Ball control is a pre-requisite of any player. At least three times today Anderson’s ball control let him down. One of those was when he was through on goal but his second touch was too heavy. Anderson wasn’t the only one either.
  • We definitely tried to play it forward more. Feels like we're trying to do the attacking work that should have been done in pre season but pre season was all about the defensive side. I think this season is probably done and that's not good enough but I can see the second half of the season being better than the first

  • I have no trips over booked.
First time in the 10yrs since I moved.
    Can’t believe it.

We just can’t keep hold of the ball, can’t have two decent halves and Jones just talks the same nonsense every week.

    Depressed of Baltimore 😞

Indeed. I'll send them another tenner.
  • Got that spot on in the prediction league, which is pretty much the highlight of the afternoon.
First half we looked like a poor pub team. Second half was better, but that is a really low bar, and there were shill players out there who really don't look like professional footballers at all.

NJ: "Us and Birmingham are the best two pressers in the league so we are front-footed and going after teams. We're just not taking chances at the minute. I'm sure that will change. We're not capitalising on the clean sheets at the minute."
Starting to really grate me now
  • Watched the first half which started brightly but turned pretty dire by the end. We actually tried to play but shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times by trying to play through the midfield at the wrong times and that led to a couple of Mansfield chances.

Reading comments about the second half it seems we could’ve had a Leaburn brace and a penalty on another day.
  • Much better today cause we tired to play football … and if Anderson and Leaburn take their chances and the ref gives us the cert pen on Leaburn things would look a lot better .. but second half we were only team looking to win and very positive from Jones who really could not do anymore today as manager
Should that be too tired to play football?
  • Only 54 long balls (passes of 35 yards or longer) attempted in the match which is our lowest number since the opening day of the season against Wigan (52).
