A top performance, where we just did not let Exter settle.

Campbell, Ramsey and Anderson were the standouts.

Feel cheated lately as its all been so comfortable
  • I hadn't realised how close Exeter are to the bottom 4. Sleepwalking their way to relegation.
Sleepwalking? On that performance they are sprinting towards it!
  • That was such a professional display today - superb - onwards to to the piss taking ticket prices Orient, who I used to have a soft spot for, but their piss taking on pricing has really annoyed me - let’s turn those arseholes over

Orient lost today and travel to Birmingham on Tuesday whilst we have the week to prepare. Three tough games for the O's, lets hope we have the captain back and apart from AMB a fully fit squad for next Saturdays game.

Only on for a brief cameo but thought McIntyre looked really up for it.  Some nice touches and chasing every loose ball.
  • Can't ask for much more.

We won our battles all over the pitch all afternoon.

Anderson's best performance in a Charlton shirt. Ramsay superb again.

Totally dominant display. It's a real fortress at home atm, right at the right time.

Ramsay is the best player in league one and I won’t hear anything different. Unless you are a scout from another club, then he’s useless.
Obviously not making a direct comparison, but he's reminiscent of a young Kyle Walker, the way he wins 50/50 and even 40/60 situations so easily with his pace, and sharpness. And can brush opposition players off so easily

And Walker played a similar role for England many times too, that hybrid Right Back/ Right Centre Back position.

I actually thought the same, a lot of similarities between the two.

Wasn't there but looking at attending the Huddersfield & Wigan matches in March. Would love to be going next week......big big match now. Hopefully Orient will lose to Brum in midweek & their GD takes a pounding too 🙂.

Today couldn't have gone better & we are now right in the mix seeing we have to play the 3 teams immediately above us before the end of March. Would be happy to beat Huddersfield & get draws away to Orient & Stockport. Time will tell though & let's see where we are after that Huddersfield match.

Scored 3 and ref and his assistants missed 2 clear pens. Can't complain.

I know I’m the exact opposite of you in terms of optimism mate but I really think our lads will be up for those games and I can see us getting 7 points out of them
  • Comprehensive win, some good goals, and some good technical play, big game next Saturday.

Bit of a stroll for the Addicks but one we worked very hard for.

Mannion gathered one free kick and grabbed a few crosses but was never troubled.

Big Josh won a lot of headers but City never had anyone near him and Jones and Gils played him well, one jumping the other dropping off to pick up the ball.

Delighted for Campbell who needs to add goals to his otherwise very good performances; so strong and such a handfull.  Deserved an assist for the cross that Karoy didnt convert.

Anderson was excellent bar that missed header and should have been given a pen early on.

The unbooking was a novelty to see but credit to the ref for admitting the mistake.

Clean sheet win, three goals while others dropped points.

    Keep it going, lads

Fantastic performance, Exeter couldn't live with us and I would say they're the worst team to play against us at the Valley this season. How much of that is because of us, who knows.

TC outstanding again, great finish and was a menace throughout. Anderson my man of the match, not had much game time but proved his worth today, poor missed header but other than that, very good.

Leaburns finish was excellent, lovely footwork and the confidence to go it alone when the pass to TC could have been attempted.

Next weekend is the big one now, absolutely massive. That game could define our season.

Lastly, very happy to see us bounce back from a loss again, shows the team has a bit about them, roll on Orient.

Ref thought Karoy kicked the ball away to delay a restart - not realising that there was already another ball on the centre spot and KA was just trying to get the extra one off the pitch.

Great that we bounced back from Birmingham with 3 points!

Pleased that Anderson getting some praise for a change too.

Didn’t see that.  How does a ref signal that he has cancelled a yellow card?

A very comprehensive and comfortable victory. Exeter offered very little but we still had to kill the game. By doing so, TC did the part of his game he needs to do more regularly, finishing the contest with an excellent, confident strike.

Tough to choose a MoM. I think Karoy probably deserves it because it was his best game for us, a constant menace getting his foot in everywhere. But Kane Ramsey is just a level above this league, the most promising player we’ve had a for a few years now.

Elsewhere, Conor kept up his recent standards, Thierry forced them to change both tactics and personnel within half hour, the defence looked solid and didn’t make any individual errors, and Leaburn showed the quality we know he has.

Very satisfying afternoon. Only shame was the muted atmosphere for much of the game that accompanied it.

Delighted with the result but only two pages to read about it on CL, wtf. There you go - the negative comment you were missing.

I think that’s what’s colloquially known as a “piece of piss”.  Everyone a seven or eight out of ten. The much maligned Karoy a candidate for man of the match (that header though…). Only teensy negative was that we really should have got a hatful to improve our goal different.  But one of those rare days as a Charlton fan that I’ve absolutely nothing to moan about.
Have a word with Golfie, he’ll soon sort you out.

PWR because I can’t really read the screen. I’m trying to remember how many Charlton games I’ve been to where I’ve felt so relaxed. I never believed that Exeter could trouble us. It’s not like we could have had 6 or 7 it’s just that we controlled them so easily. I thought Karoy was very good, though no one had a bad game.
I was relieved that Gillesphey handed the baby over before kick off.
If you went into the Royal Oak just now you’d think we’d just won the champions league. Quite an atmosphere.
  • Watched on the stream, looked very comfortable. At no point did I consider Exeter might score.
