One point of concern is the quality of fist pumps by our reluctant heroes.
NJ to hold back TC and MG for personal training.9 -
PWR. Just back home in Norwich. Great result, comfortable. I really enjoyed the day. Early start with 10 year old grandson. Arrived in chislehurst to visit my 89 year old mum and then our usual routine of fanzone and match. I think we look like a proper team again. Pleased for TC and Leaburn today. Anderson ran his socks off. Up the football league we go. Always a fine journey back to our fine city. UTA.22

Very impressive in terms of strength and ball winning. and didn't allow them a moment's peace on the ball but Jesus....how bad were Exeter?! I'm struggling to think of a worse performance from a Charlton opposition (of course there have been many).
Anyway, lots of good performances and for once I find myself agreeing with the Manager. Well played Charlton.0 -
Shout out to Karoy for the best tunnel jump execution in ages as well. Airborne within a couple of steps of the tunnel6

Narked that we lost the toss and had to play towards the Covered end in the first half. Impressive Exeter turn out. I wanted Gilbert to start but Karoy played great today. Two good goals and a slice of luck. Crunch time next week at the O's.5

I've been in Teneriffe since 7th January. Thinking of starting a go fund me page to keep me here. Charlton are doing well since I've left !16

Very straightforward in the end. 3-0 was kind to Exeter as they were never really in the game. Most of the big refereeing decision went to Exeter, as we could have had two pens.Their manager made a sub after 28 mins and didn’t really make any noticeable difference. Both Campbell & Anderson should have put us 2-0 much earlier than we eventually did.
Nice day at The Valley sitting in the light and having some nice weather. One of the big things this season is that we have followed up most of our worst performances with a win in the following match.2 -
Interested to hear people’s opinions about the Goal Keeper injury tactic. Both teams utilised it today. Exeter in the first half and Charlton did in the second. Both occurred after the team had a spell of the game when the opposition was on top.AMB also went down ‘injured’ in the first half against Stevenage.0

Cardiff went 1-0 up after only 12 minutes - and from then on, it was incessant fake injuries, theatricals and total shithousery to break up the flow of the game every few minutes. The weak referee did nothing to stop it. Ruined the game totally.
In 60 years of watching League football, I've never before seen anything like it to this extent.

Nothing to add about the team performance. It's all been said. So on a different tact, rare visit back to a very special place for me. Don't take it for granted. Its just so full of big big memories. Great day!!11

Southbank said:I thought it was a great performance. But I do not understand the love for Berry. One good cross and one terrible corner, and , as Leuth says on the players' scores, 'a lot of hiding'. Yet he is being given the same score as Coventry and higher than Small and our clean sheet defenders.
Go figure!
And he is given a standing ovation by some when going off!
Could somebody name one stand out pass, tackle or any other contribution to today's game. I genuinely want to know.
He's playing to instructions. If he didn't, the manager wouldn't play him.

Great performance today. Ramsay is the best player we’ve had in years. Everyone superb today but special mention to Karoy who was my MOTM14

We look good, Soak it up! Whether it’s our year or not, let’s enjoy it. However, I think Anderson deserves huge credit for his efforts today.. he was relentless. Credit to them all!6

I’m going to have a big moan here. I’ve been going to Charlton for 50 years. I expect tension, fear, shouting and swearing (at least from me), sitting on the edge of my seat, nail-biting. I’m just not getting it. That’s game after game at home now of straightforward wins. Get a goal, snuff the oppo, get another goal or two. Sit back and relax. Watch the tunnel jump. The only tension is who will do it and will they do it justice? I just don’t know what the Addicks’ world is becoming.32

Just thinking about tactics of opposing teams, I can understand Exeter starting with Magennis as the lone striker at the start, packing midfield and playing 5 at the back, earlier on in the season we really struggled with this defensive formation, and looked vulnerable to counter attacks, but after going 1,2, then 3 nil down they continued with the same tactic!! Were they worried about their goal difference, in case of a relegation scrap? Surely after going one down, and the keeper fake injury, they should have put someone alongside Magennis. To be fair to him he won more flick ons than any forward I've seen at the Valley, but either Jones or Macca went tight to him, he won the header and the other centre half mopped up the resulting ball. It seemed clueless to me, and didn't change throughout the game.
I guess I shouldn't be concerned about the other teams tactics, but it is interesting to see other teams response to our improving form.
On journey's home, I had one of the worst, My train travelling down from Crewe was over half an hour late arriving into Euston, due to an ill passenger, then coming home a train with technical problems blocked the line and I arrived into Crewe nearly 50 mins late. Spent the time reading Match and Post Match comments, so it wasn't as painful as some journeys have been!!4
