    I would argue that relegation would be the worst thing for us. We cannot function as a league 1 club - that was made clear when Slater et al came on board. And as such, if they dont fund new players, they are obviously more confident than us that the current midfield can hack it.

    He's the majority owner of the club - if he decides there is no money available then there is no money available. What would be much worse for the fortunes of the club would be if he OK'd a transfer when there wasn't the money available.

    CAFC Holdings Limited is in turn owned by Tony Jimenez (47.6 per cent) and Michael Slater (23 per cent) plus minority shareholders with less than 10 per cent.

    I honestly believe that even if we don't sign a single player between now and the end of the season that we will stay up reasonably comfortably. Risking money you don't have to try and prevent relegation is a risk that has led us to where we are now, and not one that we should take.

    I agree, this isn't the thread for a discussion about who really owns the club.

    What is clear is that if whoever owns the club decides the money isn't there, whilst no doubt frustrating for the management and fans, it is essential that the club does not spend money it doesn't have.

    We have good players who can compete in this division. We've had a slightly bad start to the season but advocating committing money we don't have on players like NRC is not the answer. If we have the money to sign him and he does join then great. But if we can't afford him then I would much rather flounder about around the bottom half of the table safe in the knowledge that we aren't risking the clubs future on short term solutions.

    You think signing Fuller on a one year deal will be cheap? Sure there's no transfer fee, but the wages will add up to a significant investment.

    But we still would have lost money on their wages in the meantime.

    i think this squad will stay up. I said at the start of the season I'll be happy with just staying up this year. Ideas of playoffs are completely unrealistic. We are mid-table at best.

    My point now, which I am making badly, is that Jiminez's attitude, stubbornness & ego could be our problem, rather then our solution!!

    Getting back to NRC.

    CP statement saves face for everyone. NRC isn't seen as being on trial as only keeping fit and if he doesn't sign then we never expected to sign him and he hasn't been rejected by CAFC.
