I know it won't happen and they won't all go on to fulfil their potential but if we kept these kids for 3 years to see them come through and blossom plus add a few extras they could get us promoted. What a start to their careers it would be, and plenty of time for them to make a truck load of cash thereafter.

Think that makes it clear why Duchatelet paid £14M for the club. Some of those players will fetch big money if they can prove themselves next season. Let's hope they all sign 3 year deals. Won't be long before people start fretting as to whether Harriott and Cousins have been offered new deals!

Nick Pope cant be classed as homegrown. He was signed from another first team (Bury Town) and attended the academy at Ipswich. He
has probably spent very little time at Sparrows Lane considering his loan moves. How many appearances for youth or reserves has he actually made?

Going to be a class keeper but we cant claim him as homegrown.

Never seen him play, but is he THAT good ?

If West Ham can claim Defoe then we can claim Pope.

Tobi Sho-Silva is highly thought of.. One to be knocking on the first team door next year! Apparently he is bloody quick which is something we've been missing for a lot of this year!! Hope good things to come!

I never seen him play live, which is key. But his style and his brain are extremely good assets in any keeper, especially one so young. I dont like basing judgments on highlights although for a keeper watch you wont miss much of the relevant action.

He has safe hands and he commands his box. That's what I always look for in a keeper. You dont notice safe hands as easily as a stay on the line shot stopper. Look to the goals conceded column. Thats why i preferred micky fish to bollocksbolder. I never rated Carson either.

Deano could sniff out danger, it he was 6ft 4 he would have been World class. David james is a quality keeper. I dont mind dropping a ricket 3 times a season if your claiming 5 crosses a game.

Hamer is good but I just think its concentration that could massively alter his game. He has all the physical Attributes. I think he gets beaten by worldys because he drifts off sometimes, not because he cant physically get to them.

Plus of course the clinical sponge foot to lead the line ;-))

My summer will get off to a great start if we can sign up Poyet and Gomez asap. Have'nt seen Gomez play yet but I'm happy to go with the hype on here.

Just given away a penalty against Turkey under 17s. Saved though but they've scored 30 seconds later and Gomez has looked poor so far.

That was an amazing run from Gomez really made amends for what he'd done previously.

Says he like to gather he ball great forward and create attacks, does that mean they'll do a Jordan Cousins with him and turn him into a holding midfielder??

I saw that goal he set up this eventing. Forget centre-half; put him out wide for the first team. He can dribble and cross better than our wingers.

Watching Gomez play on Eurosport.. He looks really calm
    And composed on the ball.

Looks a really good prospect! Any idea when his contract runs out and have we offered him a new one yet?

He can sign his first pro deal when he's 17 later this month. I'd be surprised if we're not looking to get him signed up on a long term contract as soon as possible.

For now he'll be on a scholarship/youth contract until the end of next season, as he's a 1st year u18 this season.
Scoham, would he cope yet in the first team? How far off is he? Can't imagine a 16 year old up against Deeney, Pobgreniwotsit, Gestede or Zigic.

Others have seen him far more than I have, but he's clearly got pace and ability on the ball as well as being a good defender. Someone on here did say he coped just fine against Alan Lee in an u21 game v Ipswich. Assuming (hoping!) he's still here it'll be interesting to see how soon he is in and around the first team. It's a big step up but Cousins and Poyet seem to have done far better than anyone expected them to.

It was me that said that Scoham. He is going to be an excellent player. But I don't see him pushing to be in the first team straight away next season. He needs more time to develop and even though he can still play for the U18s I would play him in the U21s to see how he does. But first he needs to sign a contract with us as a lot of big clubs are sniffing around.

I also said it Scoham and you replied "good to hear" if I recall. I feel next year is too early, but if excelling in the U21's by Xmas then worth trialling in the FA Cup.
