think Riley and Ball are playing for Bexley tomorrow0
-
We certainly need them. Having negotiated for two Pros pre season (and in one case paid for his International clearance) both decided for their own reasons not to join.oohaahmortimer said:think Riley and Ball are playing for Bexley tomorrow
With Min Patel leaving as well as the two Adams being committed to Kent most weeks that left rather a hole that hasn't been filled.
Match is home to Canterbury who are third from bottom and one place above Bexley.

Anyone else going to The Oval tomorrow?0
-
Not this time, AJ
Watching on Sky.0 -
I'll be there, and having seen Surrey stuff Hampshire comprehensively last week I'm expecting a pretty humiliating defeat!0
-
Kent on sky again tonight Surrey v Kent at the Oval.

My wifes nephew took 8-48 for Essex 2nd XI yesterday against Sussex on day 1 of their 3 day match.3

If you're supporting Kent, that's the best way to be...Elthamaddick said:yep I'm there on a corporate on the corinthian roof terrace...opens at 4.30 so should be well 'fuelled' by the time play starts
Can only see Slurrey knocking off these runs in around 10 overs.
Good effort from both Fabs & Dazza though but not enough IMHO.
Prove me wrong, Kent !

Yawn....
Not sure if I'm more p*issed off by Slurrey's undoubted talent( albeit ££££ talks ) or by the inane commentary, unbiased of course
from Butcher & his sidekick.
But I'm not bitter.......

Never mind Surrey. What about the pathetic state of KCCC these days. The players we have are just plain poor with very few exceptions. Its saddens me when I think that this current shower have taken the place of the likes of Underwood, Knott, Tavare, Dilley, Ellison, Benson, the Cowdreys - the list goes on and on. Its just bloody depressing.0

Money talks? The game was won pretty much single handedly by Roy a Surrey youth product. Our best bowlers were Ansari batty and Curran all youth products of Surrey! The big names did alright as they have all season but they haven't won us any games!Fanny Fanackapan said:Yawn....

Single handedly ? I thought Dilshan was part of a large fast scoring opening partnership. Just having "big names" in the team will give a boost. Yes Roy did well, didn't think Ansari was that special. Don't get me wrong, I would love Kent to be able to afford some big name players which lift the team and crowd but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.cantersaddick said:

Not to many Slurrey faithful Fanny. They turn out for the 20/20 in numbers but Kent supporters often outnumbered them at The Oval when it was the county championship.Fanny Fanackapan said:Exactly, Brian.

I'm not even sure the Surrey faithful turn out in numbers for the 20/20. I always seem to be surrounded by a lot of unspeakable idiots, who talk shite all evening, spill their ridiculously expensive beer everywhere and take no interest in the cricket whatsoever.1

Gareth Batty - born and bred in Yorkshire, came through their youth teams.cantersaddick said:

Another defeat tonight - this time at the hands of Hants by a massive 47 runs.
To add insult to injury Matt Coles scored 29 off 17 balls and took 2-24 off 4 overs.0 -

I'm sorry I must have missed watching his debut for Surrey as a 19 yr old when he came in and smashed a quick sixty and we all thought we'd found a new batsman! This was before he moved to Yorkshire!Cajetan said:

Afraid not Canters, I played in the same school side in Yorkshire as Batty. His family were long standing figures in local cricket, he left Yorkshire for Surrey as he wasn't getting much of a chance at Headingley. He was quite young when he moved to Surrey, he was always a class batsman - his spin was too good to get as many wickets as he should! We couldn't get anywhere near it!cantersaddick said:

Leics 92-3 on first morning of C C match. Claydon (2-27) and Stevens (1-33) opened with Charlie Hartley (0-30) making his County debut coming on first change.
As predicted Sam Northeast is back in the fold, coming in for Fabian Cowdrey.0 -
If you went to Harrow you get half a season to cock it up before being dropped. Old Tonbridgians get two games.Addick Addict said:Leics 92-3 on first morning of C C match. Claydon (2-27) and Stevens (1-33) opened with Charlie Hartley (0-30) making his County debut coming on first change.

The ghost of EW Swanton is alive and well if that is not a contradiction in terms!0 -
Leics 120-5. 4 wickets for Claydon so far.
Interesting that Hartley is described as RF on Cricinfo.
I wonder if he really is?0 -
Not good news for my son, Seb, then as he will be going to Chis & Sid in September ;-(LenGlover said:
