Igor...to Bolton?!

With 4 managers in 20 months and a huge turnover of players it is hardly surprising if there are personality issues. Managers need time to pick their squad,to create a team spirit and weed out misfits.2

If only every manager to have worked for RD was given the option of picking their squad, who knows what might have been.........i know move on!Southbank said:With 4 managers in 20 months and a huge turnover of players it is hardly surprising if there are personality issues. It'll be like with Morrison... He didn't get on with the manager/ the manager didn't rate him so he was moved on.. not long later the manager is on his way and we were short of a quality CB...
I have a feeling the exact same thing will be repeated with igor if he goes...5 -
If we trade the big dane for Igor we are going backwards imo both are required.

If Igor Vetekele is one of our first choice strikers then 'Houston we have a problem'.
Fans have short term memories but it's now getting on for a year since Igor had a decent game.
If we can offload, great Luzon can then replace.

Our u21s are playing Bolton away tonight, i wonder if he'll travel.0

What was Mcaleny like against Cardiff? He looked sharp at the Huddersfield game and like he could be dangerous around the box?

Well at least we can now bury the previously suggested notion that he is "sponge foot mark 2".Charlton_Stu said:

This saga is going on longer than the "Mouse trap" in the west end.

Keep playing as we have been, Luzon will be gone before him and then Igor may get his confidence/mojo back.soapboxsam said:

This is true, under the Morrison precedent . I don't blame GL for not picking Igor, howeverCharlton_Stu said:

Wants to go on temporary loan once his 'inflammation of the pubis area' has gone down.
http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/article.cfm?id=3726&headline=Charlton Athletic striker wants to boost fitness before loan exit&year=2015
Insert your own gag.0 -
Nice of him to stick around, rinse us for his wages and then bugger off somewhere else once we get him fit.
Fill your boots Igor - no rush, take your time.3 -
"inflammation of the pubis area" FFS couldnt make it up !must be why he now plays like he has no bollox then

Bit presumptuous isn't it? Maybe it's the club who want rid? It wouldn't be the first time they've moved on one of our best players. Big mistake to let him go.Swisdom said:Nice of him to stick around, rinse us for his wages and then bugger off somewhere else once we get him fit.

I would be happy to let him go out on loan if we brought in a player who is going to get us a goal or two. Would not be happy to let him go and get in another Mc Aleny.4

IF. Why not give him a chance here? He's hardly unproven is he.colin1961 said:He is one of our highest earners and if he never going to recover fully from the injury then we need to look to bring someone else in and can only do that by letting Igor go ....

No direct quotes. Reeks of a "leaked" story.
The more this goes on the more it is becoming clear that something is very wrong with Igor's relationship with the club.5 -
Why is he fit enough to play for Bolton but not us?2

He isn't.The Red Robin said:Why is he fit enough to play for Bolton but not us?
The article says he wants to go out on loan once he is fit
That doesn't make sense.colin1961 said:He is one of our highest earners and if he never going to recover fully from the injury then we need to look to bring someone else in and can only do that by letting Igor go ....
We can't just "let him go" as he's got 3.5 years left on his contract.
If he doesn't recover from his injury that no one else is going to want he long term either. They might risk a short term loan but if he's fit enough to play elsewhere then he's fit enough to play here.
He only has value to us fit, either to sell or long term loan or preferably IMHO in our first team.
But as Clem said this seems to be as much about his relationship with the club as anything else.

Its all really depressing. I want the Igor who started last season back and playing for us. There is a proper, quality striker in there. I still remember a couple of Pompey fans gushing about him on the train back from the pre-season game last year.
Pure speculation, but I suspect the fact he was being played through an injury has pissed him off. His wife has made a few comments on social media which allude to this as well.
One thing is for sure. Luzon has a record of outing players he falls out with (I have no idea whether they have fallen out) and if there has been a break down, Guy will probably win. Roland won't want an expensive player sitting on his hands either.
I hope the situation can be resolved and we can get him back fit and firing. I suspect we won't and he'll be gone before the loan window shuts.
It then comes down to what we do to replace him.7 -

Surely this comes down to he is the only one they are able to get off load other than T.Watt nobody would want any of the others strikers Ansah, Rezza, Piotr who seriously would take them0

Outside of Cousins and Gudmundsson he's the only one worth anything. That's the only motivation RD needs.CAFCBourne said:Surely this comes down to he is the only one they are able to get off load other than T.Watt nobody would want any of the others strikers Ansah, Rezza, Piotr who seriously would take them
