Nail on the head, Halix. All these imaginary salaries and fees for Gudmundsson - who cares, when Duchatelet is perfectly capable of trousering the dosh and parachuting in another turkey from Belgium? It's worth remembering that JBG is flaky in the tackle, is by-passed by every smart Championship team, and was entirely culpable in a relegated side. And he got on his high horse, slagging us off in the Press for demonstrating against Duchatelet.Halix said:I have said this before, but it doesn't matter a toss how much he's sold for because it goes to Roland and not to CAFC.
I have great hopes for Novak and Ajose - between them, 39 goals last season: that is precisely what we need. No crouching and posturing from a manager on the touchline, no burbling platitudes, no excuses about irritation of the pubis. I'm relying on Slade to play them both in every game, to forge a partnership that will maraud and triumph - they have superb role models in Killer and Flash.
I'm champing at the bit for Welling on Saturday. The sloping pitch, the incomprehensible tannoy, a ball skied over the wall to unsuspecting shoppers. COME ON YOU REDS!
we have to cover 6mill loses that we will occur through the season, plus the money RD putting in monthly to cover running costs, also we just spent appox 1.2 mill on two players with more to come if Slade needs them ..... So what money is going in his pocket ???
Gudmunnson was always going if he had a good euros even if we had stayed in the championship , plus is salary (most likey cover 2/3 new signings )
The relegation caused by Meire and Roland you mean?8 -

So stop going on about it. You're only encouraging him to say evermore silly and outrageous things by sticking up for him.DamoNorthStand said:This Colin obsession used to be funny but now it is ruining this thread.

The Colin thing is now ridiculous.
Ban him or leave him alone. It's obvious people on here can't just ignore him when he's on one.6 -
Sorry Colin, that's not what you said. You said, "we have to cover 6mill loses that we will occur through the season", plus the money RD putting in monthly to cover running costs."colin1961 said:

Presumably you did not mean this at all. You meant to say "we have to cover the £6M loss due to relegation, plus RD putting in further money each month to cover running costs".
Anyway, back to transfer rumours.1 -
The only thing that will make him go away is for people to stop biting at everything he says. He will get bored and the problem will go away. It's very simple.Henry Irving said:

Yes, so why don't you stop going on about it. Practice what you preach.DamoNorthStand said:

Colin has every right to express himself on this forum. If you disagree with what he says, then you should respond rationally and argue intelligently - and quit the sneers and abuse. I recommend all us Lifers to click on the archive button at the top of this page, and whizz back to read the origins of the forum itself. Those early posts are steeped in the qualities of enquiry, opinion, exchange of information, and - crucially - courtesy.
There is too much moral grandstanding going on. A man is nudged in the street by a Palace supporter, is inexplicably offended, starts a new thread to vent his spleen, and it spirals into idiotic abuse.
May we all reflect on two examples. When Diego Poyet left us for West Ham there was a vast outpouring of abuse, pages and pages of opprobrium. He was "disloyal", and much, much worse. Actually, he was a young man offered a good living for life. The fact that he shipped ten goals in a week at MK Dons, was passed back to us - a familiar home, if you like - and was completely and utterly anonymous in our fight against relegation, speaks for himself. Poyet is not a good player. It's called Schadenfreude.
Do you remember the way back from Watford, the appalling 5-0 capitulation, when a bloke bearded Meire on the train? There was a moral outrage on this forum: it was simply indecent for a supporter to ask searching questions of an unescorted lady - and in a public place! He was a violent nutter, drunk and deranged! Three months later, this forum was swilling with the most crass personal abuse: Meire is a cow, a slag, the devil incarnate. Actually, that bloke on the train was bloody right.
Duchatelet and Meire will go soon: our tremendous campaign of disruption and refusal will piss them off. Meanwhile, we in the Lower North want some footballing action. I have watched Charlton for 50 years and Jackson was right when he accepted the blame for relegation - the team, not the regime. They themselves failed us with their despicable lack of ability and responsibility. No more vapid midfield, no more strikers immobile as if carved in stone: I'm relying on Novak and Ajose to frighten the bloody life out of defenders - and put it in the onion bag.

Colin is an oddity he acts and posts in a manner designed to irritate people, yet if anybody bites they are the ones frowned upon. This great site needs a mute button.3
