IF we hold on to Lookman and Tex and manage to get a CMF over the line you have to say that is better than we would have hoped for a few weeks ago

gotta be happy with our work, get everyone fit and I think we have a cracking squad for L1 to be fair

    -----------Kashi/Diarra
    ---Jacko/Crofts ------ Ulvula
    Holmes----------------Lookman

The gaffer likes a 4-4-2 with one of the strikers prepared to drop in and 3 narrow midfielders and one out wide.

So how about Holmes in front of Crofts snd behind the two strikers with Ade out wide.

That would frighten tier 3 defences!

Didn't we start against Bolton like that?

Six centre backs and Crofts/JJ as our recognised centre mids is daft but if no one wanted Tex and we couldn't get rid of Rojo....

Katrien has sat at home reading this and laughing her head off. I'm lumping on us for the title....at 11.01pm.

Tex needs to be involved in squads and Lookman needs to have more playing time now.

We're still short on depth especially if we can't find Ba, Kashi doesn't come back "right" and Jackson's legs remain gone.

A couple of medium to long term injuries in midfield or up front then it's going to be a struggle to stay up at the top of the league.

I guess fans of every club in Div 1 would be thinking the same about their midfield/strikers.

I'm sure Lookman will be given more playing time as the season progresses. They wont want him blowing out at Xmas because he's been overdone early on. He had quite a bit of hamstring trouble last season so there is a need to be careful.
Agree that most in this league will feel the same. Just hoped that we'd make our big budget make me feel a bit more secure we could go 46 games with confidence to win every one of them - not worrying too much about injuries and suspensions.

Would be interesting to know if we actually received a firm, reasonable offer for Lookman.

it would be nice but we won't know. Personally think it was all rumour without any actual substance mainly because I don't think Roland would turn down 2m let alone 4m.
Offers were made but turned down - but then again it's not part of the angry narrative.

I've already seen Ulvestad spelt wrong more times than right and turned into Vuvuzela and Uvula.

Can we not do this for once and actually make an effort? We all seem to spell names like Ibrahimovic, Aguero, and Mahrez correctly...

All those centre backs should mean Diarra can concentrate on playing in centre midfield.

Overall a bit disappointing not to add more midfield options.

But good to keep Lookman until January at least.

Shame Bolton have bolstered their team.

If clubs are working on a deal they can apply for an extension by 10pm to get an extra 2 hours. Knocking deadline on to 1am.

That's only for premier league sides
That's fair and promotes a level playing field

Obviously pleased that Lookman is staying, but the bigger question, is have we got a Lookman who is happy to stay or one who has had his head turned by mixing with players earning more than him?

Squad looks very unbalanced. 6 frontline centrebacks is farcical. Pearce is clearly Slade's number 1 and given his age, at some point Konsa is going to have a dip - still begs the question - how do you keep Lennon, Bauer, Texeira and Johnson happy? Personally don't give a monkeys about Johnson but all of the others are going to want to play and we can't loan anyone.

Long term injury upfront or to a wide player and we have an issue.

"fucking arseholes will sell Lookman as soon as they get a bid, he won't be here by 11pm mark my words"

"fucking arseholes lying to us about bids for Lookman, there's no way we wouldn't accept a bid"

Sometimes you just have to accept you are wrong, and not everything is a conspiracy

I agree sometimes it is a lack of competence.

Bolton have signed James Henry, Sammy Ameobi & Ben Alnwick.

That's how you get promoted Katrien.

Brilliant signings for them. They'll go up now, got the grafters and the skill to be very strong in this league.

If we had signed those 3 tonight people on here would be wetting themselves.
Don't agree with that at all. CAFC reject keeper, a Millwall reject and Shoala"s lesser known brother!!

Sammy Ameobi's career has really stalled. Poor loan spell at Cardiff last season, now down in L1

Apparently WHU have cancelled Poyets contract

    Haha
  • Johnson will Imo now be made available to leave via a terminated mutual consent announcement

Lookman won't be pissed off why would he, he has never made noises about leaving,

I was told and said on here that I don't believe he will leave this window however depending on game time, team placing within the league and stability of mgr Jan may be a different scenario

It would. Have taken a bid of ridiculous proportion to get him gone

Tex Bauer pearce Lennnon and the other young lad is a strong back line up for chs

Midfield we are light on a box to box with pedigree

And if Holmes gets injured then we will have nothing

Upfront I think we are very strong

Slade is the weakest point in the team Imo

not type of player we need, but would definitely have him back at this level on a free.

    Blimey, what a waste.
He really should've stayed with us another season.
Worth mentioning to Lookman if he ever gets grumpy about missing out on a move to a premier league reserve side.
  • That worked out well Diego
