  • Russel Slade reaffirmed for the umpteenth time this yseason that he is nowhere nearly effing capable of making decent use of the resources at his disposal.
Evidence item 1: The initial formation with the glacially slow Jackson at the point of a diamond. How the fuck is the poor slow motion old geezer supposed to get about and support the strikers?
Evidence item 2: No pressing from any midfielders or defenders, they all backed off and backed off until Swindon were in position to shoot from inside the box.
Evidence item 3: Hoofing long balls up to midget Ajose and slowcoach Novak, with no support.
Evidence item 4: Doing nothing to change anything in the first half when it was glaringly obvious that Charlton's midfield 4(ish) were completely overrun by Swindon's much younger and swifter 5.
Evidence item 5: Bringing on big young striker Hanlon at halftime - and playing him out of position on the right, then compounding the fuckwittery by sticking to humping balls at the inadequate strike partnership, making poor Brandon's presence on the park almost entirely redundant.

Brussels can't be blamed for Fox's bad luck own goal, nor Pearce's gutless culpability for the 2nd goal, nor the referee's blatant choice to not award a penalty for the pull on Hanlan, but he set the team up to fail and endorsed the policy by barely tinkering with a failing plan.

In short he is loudly, shamelessly declaiming to us that he's a fat complacent chump and we can just go fuck ourselves if we don't like it. Cheeringly he's not even the worst problem at the club we formerly recognised as Charlton Athletic. Happy Birthday Roly keep up the good work "not doing failure". Happy Christmas all on CL panto season looks like it will never end, keep smilin'.

I still reckon he should be allowed a January transfer window, without the squirrel poking her concorde hooter in the way.

He can have whichever window he likes so long as it is on the 3rd floor or above - defenestration is all he's worth, hopefully his lard won't be quite enough to mitigate his deceleration on reacquaintance with the ground.

    Blithering idiot.
What more exactly do you expect him to say?
"I take full responsibility for that today, I got it wrong with my team selection"
So many bloody options and he chose wrong. Surely Lennon in goal and Rudd in midfield was so bloody obvious.
He had options today. Why not give Aribo a chance? Do you think that was a good starting line up then? Umerah could have started out wide. He could have gone 4-3-3. He could have gone with 3 CB's.

But no, he chose 3 midfielder with no pace whatsoever.
And he's started those same 3 together in midfield a number of times already this season.
We know, the players know, even Slade knows ....... it doesn't work.

    What's your agenda, Slade?

To enable Kat to sell Lookman in January without being accused of costing us promotion. The plan then will be to rally just enough to avoid relegation.

All the above is my opinion and not necessarily a factual statement. Nevertheless it will be interesting to review this thread on 13 May.
  • Why play 3-5-2 in the WickesTradepaint/B&Q3 for 2/ Checkmate cup and then play a completely different formation 4 days later when with the players Slade had available, a 3-5-2 formation again wouldn't have been the worst thing to do.

Saddest thing for me about Saturday - and Lord knows there were many - was watching Chris Solly. Either his knee injury is finally catching up with him, and the end of his career is maybe a lot nearer than any of us hope, or he just doesn't give a **** anymore. (Or maybe it's a bit of both). Either way that wasn't the Chris Solly I have watched for many years playing his heart out for the team. He just looked disinterested and frankly, was one of our worst players, getting caught out of position and making few efforts to get forward.

Been a great servant to this club and a player we shall always remember fondly. But I don't want to remember him playing like he did yesterday.

He is affected by the poison regime. He has already spoken out against them. Ofcourse he is going to feel demotivated. Other long serving loyal members of staff within the whole club have walked away demotivted. All because of our absent owner and our incompitent CEO. That stupid cow was ready to stab Sols in the back at the end of last season by sending him to the Gills. Also he has without dooubt been affected by that knee injury. It has slowed him down and he is only 25. I really feel for the lad at the moment.

Solly (and Pearce) were not fit. They both had to have painkilling injections to play.

So we had 2 unfit & 3 geriatrics in midfield.

5 out of 10 outfield players, who couldn't keep up with fit young opposition players.

Plus Novak & Fox who are also painfully slow. So 7 out of 10 with no pace at all.

Bauer, Ulvestad and Ajose aren't exactly pacy either.

I wonder why we lost ?
Blooming heck. When you put it like that, you can see just what a blooming mess this all is.

    And hasn't mentioned Fox;-)

Ps. I thought he played better than most yesterday

He's been like that for quite a while now. Still capable of some ok things but not one who is able to carry the ball forward more than a couple of times per match. As for the chugging back for their third goal yesterday.....it wasn't a lack of effort....that was his full speed.

I don't take post dated cheques either.
  • Watched my under 11 boy win 3-2 today.

More excitement in the 1st 5 mins today than 95 mins on Saturday and I didn't pay or put a lifetimes commitment in.

I know it's different but you go for the "entertainment", we do not get any...

    In recent years:

2-0 down at home against Cardiff, incredible game.

Away at Leicester Danny Haynes wonder strike.

    Chris Powell League 1 season.

    Watt mugging off Nottingham Forrest.

    Recent:

Beat Coventry 3-0 and ultimately the protest lives longer in the memory.

Slades football is boring - that isnt the deal though.

    The club is so broken.

To keep getting a pay cheque at the end of the month, in the knowledge that the club are too clueless/ambitionless to sack him and nobody else is likely to want him. Easy.
  • Watched it on TV. Terrible, terrible football from us. We really didn't have a clue how to break down Swindon. I don't get to watch many games but Bauer was 'orrible

Yes Bauer did not have a good game! Reports from other games say he's normally solid so that's probably why lost!

watched in the pub thought that was our worst performance so far - the millwall fans enjoyed the game cheers bruss.

I think the formation Slade played showed he lacks the tactical intelligence to understand the issues with the side. Now key players were missing and if he tried to counter this and it didn't work, I think we would be treating him far differently. But he picked a team that was always going to fail. The fact is, we have only one midfileder who is any use to us as a starter (Ulvestadt) and the four he picked were an opponent's dream. He needed to find a way of getting width into the side. He has Ba but no inclination to play him.

Then you might think, if you had a brain that set pieces may be a good way for us to score. We have a player who is well beyond the class of this league who actually gets goals from set pieces! He is fit and Slade won't play him but he plays Pearce who was not fully fit! I want the idiot gone. And I want him gone now!

I had hoped that no one would have picked that up!

The boy probably hasn't tidied up his bedroom.
  • Slade can stick his apology up his flabby arse. He should be giving the travelling faithful their money back as he robbed them on Saturday.
Another 24 hours later and I'm still incandescent.
Even if we ignore the context i.e. - If he believed his initial setup could work then he is a fuckwit, surrounded by toadies or fuckwits.
When it was glaringly obvious it wasn't working, if he isn't a fuckwit he'd have done something/anything about it, he didn't. If he protests he isn't actually a fuckwit then he's crooked - he should have tried anything else and didn't, therefore he cares not one jot or worse still chose to lose.
"Oh but I brought on Brandon for the 2nd half..." he may whine - yes you did, 25 minutes late and then played him out of position while sticking to the fuckwitted long high ball to the midget "plan".
An uninjured Tex warms the bench for league matches, while Pearce plays with an injury and is inferior anyway, What precisely The Fuck Is Up With That Russell? I would really like to hear you explain that one.
Jackson stays on for all but 5 minutes, what does that say about RS's appraisal of Chicksen or Umerah? Chicks ain't the last word on much but his cameo was stellar in comparison to Johnnie's last half hour at least.
    Still fumin...
Roly and Russell deserve each other
  • Swindon 3 down at home to Eastleigh tonight
  • Swindon 3 down at home to Eastleigh tonight

    Just seen that.
It confirms our level - fucking shocking!
I'm going to seek out the best odds on us being relegated and put a few score on.
  • Didnt Swindon ask for the oppositions best three players to be taken out of their starting line-up? Seems very harsh forcing them to play against the oppositions first team.
  • Swindon 3 down at home to Eastleigh tonight

You know what this means? We're f.........
  • I guess Sherwood told his players to concentrate on the league
