Which is what Driesen is big on as well (indoor football, not the horn)Weegie Addick said:Didn't O'Loughlin play indoor football? Maybe we are just not seeing the future -Roland is a visionary, after all. Sell the Valley and training ground, move us into the Lib or that big room at the Bugle Horn?

Rob,
There is no fooling you is there?
Impressed with your knowledge of the 38th Division!0 -
The managers and coaches getting sacked is nothing to do with Katrien and the compliments and choice of words on the statement on the website say to me that she is gutted that Roland has taken this decision.Bangkokaddick said:
For someone that doesn't seem to have a problem sacking managers for doing a poor job, how the feck is Katrien Meire, the woman who has cost Duchatalet millions due to her poor decisions and contract negotiations, still in gainful employment? Does she fob her boss off with the same lines of bullshit that she uses to the media and in her 34 meetings with the fans?
The above newspaper piece shows that Roland is completely out of touch with what is going on yet still makes these decisions over the head of his CEO.
She's a puppet and the club is poisoned. When will it end.......0 -
Meire gas? Sounds toxic.0

That's assuming that Roland didn't get that information from Katrien. Who else would've told him that protesters were ex-employees and simply don't like her as CEO because she's a woman?HandG said:

Looking on the positive side I expect this counts as another new era.18

Can someone get to Chislehurst and interview Russell Slade so we can hear his side of the story!0
-
He won't say anything as he will want to keep getting his money!2

Of course it's come from Meire, she is clinging on to a job well above her station. She will do anything to keep it, she has no shame or she would have resigned by now.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I'm sure there is a thread on this (please direct me to it if so) - but if we get relegated again this season (a possibility with how tight the league is an us having to have a new 'manager' {...} and attempt to build on a team he knows nothing about right before the transfer window) and attempt to build on a team he knows nothing about) then what are the chances of us actually being able to afford and sustain ourselves in league 2? I'm not hugely cynical but I honestly think the club will no longer exist!
It's fair enough saying we are only 6 points off of play offs with a game in hand... but we are only 3 points off of the relegation zone also!
It isn't a case that the players aren't playing for the manager, they aren't playing for the owner, this won't change.1 - Sponsored links:

There's only one ex-employee that Meire is bothered about. Airman must drive her absolutely crackers exposing her incompetence at every turn. I'm sure she'd like to run a Stalinist purge at the club to terminate his sources on the insideChris_from_Sidcup said:

Actually promotion would still be a strong possibility with some common sense decisions. The squad is unbalanced and a couple of midfielders of a decent standard and we would be pretty strong for this league. Of course that applied in the summer and there is the problem. If you don't really undertsand what is needed you are in trouble! This mob have consistently shown they don't get it!
The first common sense decision would be to let Euell and JJ take over on a caretaker basis! It would bring in some peace and stability, whilst a network stooge will ramp up the anger even more.1 -

Nailed on. The question is where it leaves Meire.razil said:This all smells of a Roland intervention to me. Humiliated by a struggling side live on tv and him rumoured to be in town, no announcmenet suggests no manager lined up or not signed off.
They didn't delay that announcement last night until 9.40pm while having a plan that everyone on the board is signed up to or because they were just arguing over the form of words, IMO.

No way will he be allowed to say anything. Part of his severance pay will include a clause saying he has to keep quiet until his 3 years are up.valleyrobin said:Can someone get to Chislehurst and interview Russell Slade so we can hear his side of the story!

I don't get the sympathy for Slade.
Certainly the real reason the club is a laughing stock and in a tailspin is completely down to Duchatelet and Meire but Slade has made a real pigs ear of managing team affairs.
He has blamed everyone including the fans for what can only be described as some appalling performances with a set of players that I think it's fair to say should be achieving more.
His team selections, formations and substitutions are frankly baffling and the negative tactics and lack of tactical nous are clear for everyone to see.
If we had a well run club with decent ownership Slade would still be Slade. Would he really be delivering more on the pitch ? For me the answer is clearly no. He had to go.
The farce continues because of what surrounded his appointment. Was he ever the right man ? Has the selection process for head coach ever thrown up the right man ?
We find ourselves looking to appoint the 8th head coach in 32 months which is a testament to the ineptitude of the regime.
Slade is gone and I'm not shedding any tears for him but I am for the embarrassing situation that Charlton Athletic finds itself.23 -
I think Wilder was the right man - they nearly got him but it would clearly have been luck rather than judgement!3
