personally it does look good, but a new kit and a fancy box for a season ticket, doesn't undo the bad that they've done.

Of course it doesnt, but taken in isolation it's a good thing, an improvement on fan communication and marketing.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't, IF they are truly learning lessons, they have to start somewhere.
Senior players have stated to KR that the moral and squad atmosphere is the best in years, we seem to be signing decent players, and retained our star player, with the promise of more to come.
The regime have a hell of a lot to answer for on every level, and IMO public apologies, but credit where it's due so far this pre season, it just feels different and more positive than for a long time.

If they ignored the 25th anniversary come December, would you not call them out on it?
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Exactly. Terrible use of the wrong "they're".

Agree that this is a nice gesture. Ten years ago we would have said it typified the special relationship between club and fans.

Or people would be very impressed had a new owner took over and did this.

It's a little bit grating because you know they are simply trying to hook us with the only thing they've got as the actual team and manager are pretty terrible.

    @Henry Irving
If nobody else has offered/offers, I will donate the whole package/box to the museum at the end of the season, including ST and wallet etc.
Remind me in April/May next year.

Thanks E, that would be great.

We have a good relationship with Hummel so hope we can get a box from them but if not then that would be great.

They have every right to as the current owners of the football club whether you like it or not

The negative response to this from some really demonstrates just how sour the relationship between club and fans has become.

It should be seen as a nice gesture but due to past behaviours they will always get criticism no matter what they do.

How can you say the manager and team are rubbish before the season has started. I think the manger is decent and the squad is improving. I think under a different owner people would see things differently

If people are too bitter to see that the club is changing and making an effort to repair the damage that the owner has caused, then I don't think they are being objective.

I accept that many fans have been very hurt by the past 3 years, me included, but do we want the club to prosper again or do we not ?

I would like the fans to all pull in the same direction and try and bring back the good times.

    I criticise no one.

Changing and making an effort yeah? Have a look at our squad, have a look at the fact we have no senior goal keeper, have a look at the fact we've had next to none of the Lookman money, have a look at the youth players we've sold, have a look at last season, have a look at the league we are in, have a look at season ticket sales.

Too many people get suckered in by some shit gimmick, nothing has changed, they will not change and we will never be a successful club under them. FACT.

    Enjoy your calendar.

Damn ... I'm missing out on a red box by not renewing my ST

That's your loss then - some on here who probably share some of your sentiments at least have the good grace to acknowledge that the club is trying to move in the right direction but if you wish to continually hold a grudge that's your choice.Others appear to move on .Life is to short enjoy when you can.COYR

Mine was delivered by Jackson. Unfortunately, his legs had gone so he had to crawl up the driveway.

    The box contains:
    - a season ticket which I will use
    - a red and white scarf which will keep me nice and warm in the winter months
    - a calendar with fixtures already entered which will be handy and sit on my desk
    - and a set of strange hexagonal cards promoting match day hospitality, held together by two large metal rings. No idea what their function is. Any ideas?

Might do yet, either way will be there for the first game of the season. Just hope the fans in the ground go to support the team

Nice little package. I'm happy to renew on the basis that we have a sensible manager and are buying good players for this division.

Because I saw the manager and the team last season and nothing of significance has happened in the last eight weeks to change my mind.

My season ticket has been renewed anyways and I do appreciate the gesture they are trying to make, but as I said I feel like they are going OTT on the "Back at the Valley" thing a bit because they basically have no other cards to play.

I have no use for a calendar, scarf, advertising cards, a red box or a season ticket.
Nice touch but they, (the owner and his staff), will have to have a stellar couple of years to get me back full time.
I am also slightly miffed that a PR company are using some of my best memories and associating them with the current vermin.

I don't think it's a case of being suckered in. It's a harmless, even dare I say it nice positive gesture. I would imagine kids will love it. But pointless whining about something that's basically good detracts from complaining against the real issues and can only be used by them to make us look petty and a bit pathetic.

This. It's a nice gift in a nice box.

It is neither evidence of significant regime change or of continuing incompetence.

Good things have often happened under this regime and nearly all have been when outside agencies such as the community trust, the pitch fitting company or, as in this case Hummel and Elite, have been allowed to control them.

But that doesn't stop the box being a nice box.
