He's not seen it all - he just likes poetry, that bloody dramatist...Pedro45 said:
Ah, a fellow Breaking Bad fan!seth plum said:I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Though given he's a drama teacher, we'll discuss poetry, theatre or literature at least once a day!0 -
You may talk o' gin and beer
When you're quartered safe out 'ere,
An' you're sent to penny-fights an' Aldershot it;
But when it comes to slaughter
You will do your work on water,
An' you'll lick the bloomin' boots of 'im that's got it.
Now in Injia's sunny clime,
Where I used to spend my time
A-servin' of 'Er Majesty the Queen,
Of all them black-faced crew
The finest man I knew
Was our regimental bhisti, Gunga Din.
He was "Din! Din! Din!
You limping lump o' brick-dust, Gunga Din!
Hi! slippery hitherao!
Water, get it! Panee lao!
You squigy-nosed old idol, Gunga Din."3 -
Given how things have gone under RD, I'll happily take my chances with almost any new owner1

Can we just talk in poems from now on?1

Found nothing, so drank some more booze12 -

To see Roland Duchatelet leaving,
But what I faced instead,
Filled me with dread,
50 new posts of rhyming!

If and when the new owners take over I hope they keep Robinson on as I think he is doing a decent job and knows this division. If we get to the championship and they are ambitious then maybe change it up to get us to next level as I am not sure he has what it takes to get us there.0

Roland stood upon a burning deck,
His face was all but fluttered.
Nevermind dear boy said a man at the back
I am your prospective buyer.
My name isn't Shiek nor Spiv nor Abdul,
Nor one of the bods from they syrupy drink of red bull.
I indeed drove a bus, it was red like most,
I'm a Walrus not Rodney the one from the coast.
Well Ebbsfleet is near and there's something to do
whilst I waiting in the sidings with my choo choo ka choos.
It's close, it's happening it's gif pleasing good
It's not long now before that fucking arsehole sells up and fucks off away from our club.
Roland Out!

Good effort. The half-rhyme of 'Robinson' with 'division', the assonance in 'owners take over I hope', the alliteration in 'doing a decent...division'. With a few metaphors and biblical allusions, you might be onto something special here.ct_addick said:If and when the new owners take over I hope they keep Robinson on as I think he is doing a decent job and knows this division. Got a "we're over capacity" message when I tried to load CL. My heart skipped a beat thinking it was done. Now I'm sad.4

I thought the same but then I got a 'Your posts have received the maximum capacity of LOLs; please delete some' message. Hopefully, CL is loading ok now for everyone.cantersaddick said:Got a "we're over capacity" message when I tried to load CL. My heart skipped a beat thinking it was done. Now I'm sad.

You're in DD's?. I'm on my way.supaclive said:I'm in DD right now. Target said £Xm 9 months ago. Then it was half X. Now it's 1/4 X and we're closing. Rich people believe their own press until each set of financial results prove otherwise.
When push comes to shove, RD will sell as he knows his business model doesn't work. He just can't admit it in public.
Trust me. It's sold before the end of the season.1 -
With keen anticipation
Billowing in the air
I clicked on this thread
Praying it was the end of Meire
With over 100 new posts
I started to peruse
However, another false dawn beckoned
Roland was still here in his duct tape shoes
Due diligence is complete
According to some in the know
But others say nothing is happening
Which only confounds the woe
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky4 -
Nice one Elvis0
