Bloody hell, we have enough trouble getting into the opponents box as it is - last thing we want is for them to go down like a sack of shit when they hear a player approaching them.stonemuse said:
Was starting to warm to Robinson but he needs to do one thing. Stop moaning and finding excuses, find a plan B and tell us, as fans, what he is going to do to get us out this dreadful form. Injuries or not, we're just laying down to get out bellies tickled every match as we have no midfield and no real talent up top (at least not with the service Magennis requires).11 -

Do this bunch of players want to go up?
Serious, we'd need 16 new players to compete in bottom half of championship.
None of them would be involved.
Maybe Holmes at a push and anyone mention Kashi and your deluded.0 -
He won League one with 101 points, had us finish 9th in the championship with a Fiver, then got the sack because we couldn't repeat the success.SDAddick said:
Lovely man though he is, he was also wedded to a formation and often lacked a plan b. Because it was 4-4-2 he got away with it. But when you look at what he's done since leaving us, it has been sideways if not backward.Derek1952 said:Bring back Chris Powell and let him pick the players he wants, might put some belief and pride in Charlton.
Again, club legend. But I don't think that he's the answer to all of our woes.25 -

We are missing 8 key players. We were comfortable for 89 minutes of the game today and had 2 clear chances to score. Yes we conceeded in the last minute which is disappointing, but in my view, we were clearly the better side.
The reaction on here is suicidal. We've got people calling for Robinson's head (a suggestion so stupid you should be banned for mentioning it) and others just posting the usual whingy Roland-out tripe.
When players come back, we'll have a much stronger 2nd half of the season. Until then, can we please have some original content.8 -
It’s a dead argument as the bloke is too principled to come back and work under this miserable bunch of c*nts.cafcnick1992 said:

It’s an insult to him and his achievements to even start to try and compare him to the Scouser.14 -
Still in the play offs which shows how much of a joke this league actually is.
We are now only 10 points clear of earlier relegation candidates Gillingham and 11 points behind 'promotion rivals' Shrewsbury. Go figure2 -
Robinson pretty much got who he asked for this last window. And now he wants another window to make up for his mistakes?stonemuse said:1 -
Exactly, but he got the sack because he was always going to get the sack, Roland was just waiting for an excuse to do so. He wanted a yes man in to implement his plan.cafcnick1992 said:

Those who slate CP as a manager did not go to watch our games under him, we fought every match to the death and had players who wanted to put on the red jersey, that showed. He was pretty pro-active and changed things as they needed, but we didn't have an unbelievable team for the Championship - those who slated some of our games in the Champ.. imagine this current starting XI in the Championship away to Derby or Sheff Utd under Robbo...11 -
One minor obstacle, the Belgians still own us.Derek1952 said:Bring back Chris Powell and let him pick the players he wants, might put some belief and pride in Charlton.

No good moaning about the referee ... over a season the decisions do tend to even themselves out. It's frustrating for sure when you get one who is not up to the task in hand, but there are far more substantial problems within the club and, in theory, within the management's controlstonemuse said:6 -
We've been shit all season in an extremely shit league. Even when we have our strongest 11 available , tell me how many games we've been excellent? Our manager is costing us points by not trying to win games properly and trying to hold on to 1-0s. The squad is extremely weak down to our owner , who doesn't give a fuck. Please ban me for wanting my football club to be doing much better than it currently is. Sad we got fans that think everything is Rosy. So officially the attendance was 10,172 with 209 Blackpool fans there ... an identical attendance to the game v Wigan in September incidentally. Did it seem that many to anyone there today? Certainly not from this picture ...
And we know in the past two seasons the figures have assumed 100% turnout by season ticket holders, but with their numbers in decline, how did Daisy arrive at this number today?4 -
No excuses today. Should never have took Reeves off for George. Reeves was the only player that could and would have created a chance. Poor.5

2 points from the last 5 games and 3 goals scored yet still in the play off positions is testament to our good start and how utter chuff this league is
Still let’s all laugh at millsmall and palace as we slosh around in a league no one most of us know (Charlton fans apart) give a flying fcuk about , shameful times as an Addick with the soul having been ripped out of our club .
Yet we have some lame duck fans who still wanna tickle Roland’s undercarriage with their tonsils rather than rip them out and shove em where the sun doesn’t shine , sad times .
0% Top two ........ 28% 3rd-6th ....... 67% 7th-12th ........ 5% 13th-20th .......0% Relegation
100% Roland out

I feel sorry for Robinson because of the injuries but he needs to pick a team capable of winning games, not trying to fit 11 men into a 4-2-3-1 formation every week
He could easily have played 4-3-3 today with Jackson protecting aribo and reeves in the middle with kag joining best and magennis up front. We might have had a shot in the second half0 -
I wouldn't worry about Charlton having to spend time thinking about life in the Championship under the current management. Life in League Two in a couple of years maybe ...Stig said:Posted elsewhere by @Charltonparklane :

Disappointing but hardly surprising seeing as I've seen it so many times before. I thought the defence did OK generally, but if you can only manage 1 goal and a few decent efforts against poor teams like Blackpool you are asking for trouble. I know we had some important players missing and hopefully things will improve when we get them back, but these are the sort of games you have to win if you have any realistic chance of making the play-offs.1

Second half Ido not think a chance on target. When Best went off it went even less likely to score.
Good in first half, poor in the second.2 - Sponsored links:

Piss of Robinson. Your time is up. You tried to suck off Roland and Katrien as did Slade, Peters, Luzon on the other desperate losers. However you were left short and now your paying the price. No excuses anymore, walk away and tell everyone how shit the owners are. You won’t though because you desperate shite manager that will take anything you can get like the other wankers.14

Not true. He pretty much didn't need anything other than 4-4-2 in our title winning season.SDAddick said:

In the Championship he got results with several formations, 4-4-2, 4-4-2 diamond, 5-3-2 and variations of 4-5-1.
Robinson could take us up with a budget that gives him all the options and quality he needs. No manager will ever get that under Roland.
Not saying he should go but sticking to one system and only wanting to play your ideal style makes promotion harder to achieve.
Powell's a good fit for the club but things might not work out so well at a second attempt. So frustrating that he never got to build on the 11/12 squad.13 -
Don’t feel sorry for Robinson about injuries. He was the one happy to play the same team every week and freeze out players like Aribo. Same as every season instead of bringing on kids like Lapsile when we’re winning 2-0 3-0 we bring them on in desperation. Absolute joke.1

Bit of perspective. We had eight players out.
First half we played pretty well. Should have been two or three up. Best showed real promise in the centre forward role. Should have scored with the point blank header (did it hit the keeper?) and the chance from Magennis’ whipped in cross was harder than it looked.
Best held the ball up well, and was a handful.
Magennis was much better on the wing.
Class goal by Aribo who had a good game. Last 10 minutes of the first half were dire. Mainly because Blackpool were dreadful. Their aim, to spoil and frustrate. But they had pace up front, which began to worry us.
Second half we were back to our worst. Didn’t react well to Blackpool pressing us. Best getting injured didn’t help, and a string of poor decisions by the ref seemed to unsettle some of the players. Great tackle back by Dijksteel punished by a free kick to them. Dasilva also harshly dealt with several times. Magenni booked when he was the victim, not the offender.
A clear throw in to us (right in front of me) was inexplicably given to Blackpool. This led to a free kick given for nothing. Which led to a nothing goal. All around me the feeing that we were being robbed.
But we weren’t creating much and allowed Blackpool too many free kicks. We hardly troubled their keeper in the second half.
Positives: Young Jackson looked composed on the ball.
Negatives: Lapslie didn’t.
Two points dropped unnecessarily.
Best’s hamstrung problem sums up our season. Just when it seems to be going well something comes along and bites you in the.....9 -
We absolutely pissed this league when he was in charge. Robinson isn’t even close to him as a manager.SDAddick said:

Cheers @Oggy Red. Makes sense, the BBC stats didn't stack up with all the negativity but I get what you are saying.0

True though you can also argue that KR should have used some of the squad players players more often. As well as he's done I don't see JFC scoring a goal like Aribo did. Should have had more chances even just off the bench. The Red Robin said:

A result which, for me, reinforces the probability of another season of mediocrity in League 1. We were pretty good in the first half against very technically limited opponents but our old failings in front of goal meant we were only a goal to the good at the break. Even then, Blackpool managed a couple of threatening moments following balls down our left channel.
The second half degenerated into a scrappy affair, in which we never generated any sustained attacking momentum and Best’s enforced departure seemed to remove any real threat up top. After that, we saw the familiar pattern of balls being knocked up to Magennis and either headed away or flicked onto no one in particular. For their part, Blackpool worked hard to try and get back in the game and had more territory, without ever looking capable of fashioning anything, other than from a set piece.
It’s hard to take any real positives from that, save for a couple of very good performances from Da Silva (including his sublime cross towards the end of the first half) and Joe Aribo, who put in a very good shift, sprinkled with a couple of moments of magic. I thought that Leon Best held the ball up well and, whilst he should probably have taken one of his two chances, his control and movement was good; unlike Magennis, he also does at least look like he’s anticipating where the ball’s going to go in the box and is trying to get on the end of things. Konsa turned in a polished performance and I thought that Jacko turned in a very solid performance.
As for the negatives, the two guys that we really needed to step up to the plate in our injury crisis - Reeves and Marshall - both failed to impress yet again. Marshall flattered to deceive, ran down a lot of dead ends and produced little end product, whilst Reeves was brushed off the ball far too easily. I think that Naby Sarr looked shaky at times and if Harry Lennon is fit, I’d like to see him back in the side. In more general terms, our corners and free kicks were pretty abysmal - as Viewfinder says, it does make you wonder what the players and coaching staff are doing all week at Sparrows Lane.
Whilst we had eight likely starters out, the side we put out should have been capable of beating a very poor Blackpool side. The fact that we couldn’t suggests that we are likely to find ourselves slipping out of the play-off reckoning, notwithstanding the relatively poor standard of the division (Wigan excepted).
