Sorry, who's arguing they are not a commodity? They wouldn't exist otherwise.Anna_Kissed said:Here's a short video from Mercy For Animals, posted on Herbiⓥore's Twitter, about the commodification of chickens.
How you treat an animal is not what determines whether or not it is a commodity, if it was bred with human intervention, it was bred to be exploited for human needs and that makes it a commodity, whether you take it to bed at night and cuddle it or eat it.

Credit to your perseverance, but it is about as likely for your posts to influence meat eaters as it is for Chippy to convert to a remainer.Stevelamb said:0 -
Children don't want to eat animals:

Yes they do and they don't care about the qualityof what's in it either.
We are teaching Rosa about meat as she grows up so beef in our house is cow, chicken is well chicken and pork is pig etc...
The mum is getting far too much sugar a day, natural or not it's really no good to eat excessive sugar that probably also gets passed onto the child here as they force it to eat so much fruit, which is terrible as it will create a sugar addiction which will be detrimental in later life.

I thought chicken was hen and cockerel. Little chickens when slaughtered and prepared would not feed very many.Dazzler21 said:Children don't want to eat animals:

Just saw that the Animal Rights March is tomorrow.
Oh well I'll be there then not the Valley.
But I'll wear a Charlton shirt.2 -
Going on an animal rights march dressed like an EDL supporter could be interesting. Good luck. :-)iainment said:Just saw that the Animal Rights March is tomorrow.

I don't eat anything with a face but I would happily 'take one for the team' and consume Roland to bring an end to this horror story.1

I would take my inspiration from the 1973 classic Theatre of Blood film and kill off RD in a fashion befitting his treatment of our beloved football club. Suggestions on a postcard to: The Cistern, Cubicle 3, Gents Toilets, Marylebone Station.0

Thousands of people gathered in London this afternoon to raise awareness of animals' suffering and to promote a vegan lifestyle

I felt this much more than the anti Duchatelet protest. Which I also attended.
I really fear for Charlton as the urgency from the fans is just seeping away.0 -
Just seen a bloke on the telly who is swimming the Channel lengthways
He says the waters around the UK are so overfished stocks will run out for this generation, let alone future generations.
It looks like man has 'triumphed' over the seas.

I doubt you’ll find many meat eaters that disagree or have a problem with any of this.Anna_Kissed said:
I’m a meat eater and fully support animal welfare initiatives. Our meat production should be better regulated. The conditions animals are reared and kept in is very important. It doesn’t mean that I want to become a vegan though. Big mistake the activists for veganism make is to think meat eaters don’t care about animals. I can assure you most do.

After all there are plenty of animal rights issues (fox hunting, greyhound racing, horse racing etc) which are nothing to do with what we eat
And there are animals we kill, similarly for non food purposes. If vegan had an infestation of mice or cockroaches in their house, would they get them killed?1
