We are yet again watching the Quest hour highlights programme. Rewound the goal only six times this time!  Now listening to Dazza Bent.  Have pressed Keep on the sky remote.

    Up the Addicks!

Ps Benty talks like he’s on speed! Buzzing after the match I guess!

Great thread and just caught up (PWR should be banned). Nothing to add other than envious of the family pictures, I was in the (in)famous block 530 with all the other unique sorts. When the winner went in hugged two women to my left and then turned and hugged a women to my right, no dirty old man intentions at all but icing on the cake.

I'm increasing my player score for Naby from a 6 to an 8.5.

Just watching it again and never realised it was he that clattered Max Power into submission.

I'd picked Power out before the match as a real danger. Remember watching him at the Valley game and he was a real f****** nuisance.

    Well done Nabs!

Is Meire in charge of security again? You're lucky they haven't grabbed you around the throat yet.

So as a complete contrast to yesterday, I meet up with my mum and sister at Nyman's, a National Trust property in West Sussex. I decide to wear my Charlton shirt and no one bats an eyelid for an hour or so, until a bloke comes up to me and says, 'You were at the match, yesterday, weren't you?' And suddenly remembering this stranger's face, I reply, 'Yes, you were sitting in front of me. We hugged when Bauer scored.'

    Small world.
That’s my mate Reid. He sent us a WhatsApp msg about meeting you, @captainbob
Say hello to Reid from me. You can tell him I'm still walking around in my Charlton shirt, unashamedly attention-seeking, @AddicksAddict
@captainbob Reid says Hello and wonders if the shirts getting a bit whiffy yet?

@AddicksAddict Quick rinse wash last night as it was getting whiffy and I wanted one last celebratory wearing on a day out in London. On the train now from Eastbourne in a slightly damp shirt.

Just remembered this.  As we got off the tube at Wembley Park, there was the most surreal announcement:

"Would the Transport Police go to Platform 1 for fight".

We got exactly the same announcement when we got off the tube at 12.45!

Still can't get over it and don't think I ever will. Definitely beats 98 for me in terms of elation and meaning. Mostly this is because I was 13 in 98 so I have more understanding now of how important this was last Sunday. Simply we had to win. And especially through all the torment and despair of the previous few years. Despite Roland, Bowyer and the team pulled us up.

I, like many others, missed the opening own goal. I was watching the middle of the pitch when all of a sudden I saw Phillips run towards the net scrambling trying to get the ball from crossing the line. I had no words. I thought we had messed it up though. Luckily the team (and the majority of the fabulous support) thought otherwise.

Our equalising goal was a tremendous team effort and we went absolutely mad. We were back in it. Back to square one. Game on. I was glad to get to half time on equal footing and thought we would get stronger in the 2nd half.

The longer the game went on, the more nervous I became. I was convinced that something would go wrong in the last 10 minutes. I called it sudden death time. One mistake and game over. I thought that if we went to extra time, our tiring legs would falter.

How bloody wrong I was! Cue Williams. Cue Cullen. Cue beautiful Bauer! I had not expected it but oh my God I was jubilant. Everywhere erupted. I celebrated more than I ever had before. I presume many more did the same. Elation of the highest. Best football feeling ever. Have that!!

Still buzzing now. We will always have this memory. No one can take this away. No matter what happens now, we will always have Wembley 2019. An invigorated Charlton Athletic team and support. We deserve this success. Long may it continue.

Nearly a week from the day of days. All i ever wanted was a team that gave 100%, a manager and his assistant who cared! I was never good enough to play for this club, and i can't wear the repilca shirts as i believe you have to earn the right to wear that shirt. The fans i have stood with since i was 7 ( I am now 62)have been a big a part of my life as my family.  THIS IS MY CLUB! THIS IS MY TEAM! THIS IS CHARLTON  ATHLETIC!

Fantastic thread for a fantastic day. Really hope that a season DVD comes out. So many great memories, I think everyone had really enjoyed the season even before the playoffs and then to qualify for and win the final in the way we did was just incredible. What do people on here think the chances are of a season DVD coming out are? Haven't heard any talk about it.

Did anyone warn Wembley about getting the vol-au-vents in?

I thought I would wait for today, traditional football day, to download the game from Sky catchup. It is good to watch now, knowing the result, but I did not realise when the game was live how much Prately put himself about in that first 15 minutes, when we needed someone to steady the team down. I was also impressed with Cullen, more so now than last week, again did not realise how much work he got through.

No, he is going to get the winner for us again next season.
