Said yesterday what I'd do. Send them an email saying if we hadn't heard back by 5pm today then we assume all is good to go & he'd be playing on Saturday. End of.
Can't imagine the point deduction or fine would be an issue at all.

More like 3 points (maybe even more).....at the moment the ref blew his whistle to get the game under way, even if he was on the subs bench.

How about Brighton cancelled his contract and his new contract is of a different duration - possibly longer - and therefore needs re registering rather than just transferring and whatever permit malarkey there might be associated with it ? That and possibly the efl or fa shouldn’t have cancelled one registration before confirming the new one, particularly if the new one was submitted 35 seconds late???

I do find the whole thing incredible, particularly the complete lack of any information from anybody.

is it the EFL hitting back at our owners recent statement.

Probably find the EFL rang back to confirm, got the NHS helpline and received a prescription for preparation H by return.

Watching this saga from afar ... this is just typical of Charlton’s luck. But it’s what you get if you leave things to the last second.

    Yep.
And have no senior management team in place to oversee things like this.

Seeing as it’s POETS day tomorrow I doubt we’ll get an answer before Monday and Hemed would have missed three games ... Really is getting farcical.

    Name that ground?
Clearly Mansfield Town. Try a harder question.

Afraid not, surely you recognise that terracing. You needed to be there of course and I assume you weren't  ;)

    Am I missing something here?

    The deadline was 17:00

Not 17:00:00 so as they are only requiring mintues, we had until 17:00:59 to get all paperwork in.

If the deadline is advertised as 16:59:59 then we have no case.

    Is this a joke?

If not you are indeed missing something. 17:00:59 is after 17:00.

While we don't know if Hemed is officially on our payroll, if he is not, and things are not settled by 12am tomorrow, potentially Hemed has been excluded from three matches, one which we lost on penalties preventing a lucrative tie against a Prem team and the chance to progress in a cup. Hemed may have lost wages and win bonuses. All because the football authorities could not make s timely decision.

If they were too tied up with Bolton, Bury, and Macclesfield, they passed the owners as fit and proper persons.

Bournemouth A in the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup cannot in all reasonableness be described as lucrative.
Unless you're suggesting we were going to draw Man U or Arsenal.

It would get their bloody attention though. I bet they'd be onto us that evening.

You have to throw the stone to get the pond to ripple......to quote a couple of famous Charlton boys.

The point being, is that unless we proactively do something then the EFL can just sit on this.

Brilliant reminds me of the millwall fan who thought his  ST seat had been sold.

C End, the point is the draw was against a Prem side. EFL don't know how many would turn up, nor do they care how much revenue we potentially lost. They delayed a decision, depriving us if a goalscorer, with no reason or transparency

If the case was cut and dried we'd surely have heard something by now. Maybe the EFL know they're on shaky ground and no decision is the safest option while they figure out how to avoid Roland taking legal action.

Every full signing is a transfer of contract.

Yes but the problem is with the registration, not the contract?

Wouldn’t be a problem if Brighton cancelled his contract so that’s incorrect. It’s also wrong that you just transfer a contract to another club unless it’s a loan.

"BBC Sport has learned that the FA told Charlton the club had not communicated the player's contract extension in a way that fully complied with the FA's system, rules and regulations."

This is per Kit Graham's "free transfer" to Spurs; do communication issues pervade the whole Charlton family?
