This is why we can't have nice things....golfaddick said:I get the feeling this mob have less money than RD......or even the Aussies. Not a great start to piss off your main striker, manager & now the fans by inaction & misdirection.7 -
Shame Huddersfield got Emile Smith-Rowe, feel like he would've been good for us.

When was the last time we signed an experienced player from the 1st team of a club in the same divison as us, for a fee?
There are probably loads I have forgotten but I can only think of a couple in Powell's team Wiggins and BWP. Before that it may have been Eddie Youds!
Even in the premier league we mainly bought players from the football league, abroad or players unwanted by bigger clubs. I don't expect that to change any time soon.2 -
Nicky Ajose. That worked out well...Cafc43v3r said:When was the last time we signed an experienced player from the 1st team of a club in the same divison as us, for a fee?

Bowyer mentioned there will be marquee signings.
"The players we’re trying to get in now... there will be marquee signings, players we feel can strengthen the team."25 -

News just in, we're going to sign Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and Pele to escape to victory from relegation.0

3 players they have attempted to buy in the last week, also Boywer wanted a player yesterday who the Chairman will go and get. Doesn't sound like standing still here. In Bowyer/Gallen/Southall we trust!

Wonder if its yesterdays player that forced them into action with the contract - Not even signed yet and they're already a potential club legendjohnnybev1987 said:3 players they have attempted to buy in the last week, also Boywer wanted a player yesterday who the Chairman will go and get. Come on, the only bloke from that film we would sign is Kevin O’Callaghan (for those of you who haven’t seen the film, he was ruled out of the game with a Broken Arm).john3 said:News just in, we're going to sign Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and Pele to escape to victory from relegation.3 -
Was the deadline to play on Saturday at 12 today or 12 tomorrow?1

Midday the day before the game, so tomorrow to be available SaturdayGlosfan said:Was the deadline to play on Saturday at 12 today or 12 tomorrow?1 -
Bowyer stating what we need, Gallen identifying who we can get, Southall using his slippery former agent skills to meet, greet and seal the deal. Dream Team, be patient, it will happen.22

In what way? What type of player is he, where does he play, strengths and weaknesses, what first team experience does he have?DoctorCharlton said:Shame Huddersfield got Emile Smith-Rowe, feel like he would've been good for us.0 -

Doesn't make a difference now, but he is a winger, young, good with the ball at his feet and knows where the goal is. Used in the Europa a lot, I agree would have been a great signing... although we don't notoriously play wingers and he isn't a wing back (full back with a 3 man defence). Ironically enough I signed him on my fifa game for Charlton and play in a front 3
PS- I think he fails the height test

I bet the player ain't happy.ricky_otto said:
It does make me laugh “Charlton can’t match Blackpool’s asking price” More like won’t match Blackpool’s asking price.ForeverAddickted said:
Either way I’m quite pleased it looks like the deal is off. It also underlined that Southall and co won’t be held to ransom, just because other clubs (and Taylor) assume that Middle Eastern money gives them the right to be greedy.Hopefully Blackpool will lose him for nothing in the summer - that will serve them right.1 -
I would like for once, that Charlton had an Abramovic type owner who can throw money around for players and not miss it. But no we get owners who have to worry about a few hundred thousand pounds here or there.20
