Should give us some pace down the rightcafcfan1990 said:My whatsapp group reckon we've been offered Ben Johnson by West Ham if we can't get Matthews. I doubt the accuracy as it's a mate's mate dog etc but this is the place for a rumour I guess!

And still some people would want him. Hypocrit comes to mind.
We are better than that. He can go f...8 -
Sounds like Cawley has heard about @Dazzler21's list...11
-
I think that's fair enough. Hopefully we've identified some decent signings but we can't act whilst under the embargo so don't want to give other clubs a head start.
Saying that, in today's world, I'd be surprised if those players agents aren't already acting anyway.3 -
Whilst i completely understand why Cawley doesn't want to say anything, is it really a thing whereby him saying anything will jeopardise a transfer?ForeverAddickted said:Sounds like Cawley has heard about @Dazzler21's list...
Surely if we're in for a player then his agent is touting him around to as many clubs as possible to get the best deal?

I guess the Agent is one thing - Telling someone else when you've told them in confidence is anotherChris_from_Sidcup said:

Guess as well there may be a club or two that havent been approached by the Agent who'd now contact them anyway1 -
Clubs won't believe everything an agent tells them though. So if we have agreed a deal and the agent tells another club that the other club may well think it just a bargaining chip, whereas if the local reporter starts saying done deal it focusses other clubs minds.1

If Cawley blabs when he's been told not to, nobody will trust him and tell him anything in the future. Rule number 1 of being a journalist23

He could just make stuff up though like Alan Nixon does.killerandflash said:If Cawley blabs when he's been told not to, nobody will trust him and tell him anything in the future. Rule number 1 of being a journalist6 -

What position is our number one priority ? Centre back. That’s where I think the answer to the eyebrow question lies.0

Can anyone confirm any rumours Alan Nixon has posted about Charlton since 08/09? I think we need someone to always be at the foot of the ITK Table.2

So Bournemouth it is then.ForeverAddickted said:2 -

£650k bid from Celtic rejected for Doughty, really are taking the piss.

I appreciate that it is largely click bait and that Celtic have a large number of supporters eager for news but these derisory offers or alleged offers are becoming irritating. How can it be assumed that a Championship club won’t come in for Doughty with a much larger, more realistic offer ? Alternatively, if his contract runs down, Charlton would still be entitled to a decent level of compensation - and have the benefit of Alfie’s services - if (as is likely) he goes to an English club.
The player’s value is only likely to increase this season and, with it, his value.
The risk for us, of course, is if the Thomas Sandgaard takeover doesn’t happen and the clowns at ESI 2 accept any kind of offer to stagger on for a couple of months and get to their late November trial date. That doesn’t really bear thinking about, with administration the likely outcome.0 -
Don’t know, but you do get a virtual doing over if you’re wrong.captainbob said:You probably all know this anyway but I heard today that Joel Lynch is signing once the transfer embargo is lifted.
I'm posting it because I've never been ITK before. Do I get a badge?0 -
Dunno if its been mentioned but Freeman is leaving Sheffield United, he would be a great signing(plus he is Welsh) although I expect he has a championship club lined up
