His head will turn the other way as we go past them on the way up this season. That comment when he left meant I lost a lot of respect for him tbh.2

That £2m we got is looking better and better every week. Bow's instinct for offloading players is something special.

1 goal in 8 league appearances this season
he’s had a purple patch with us to get the big money move but I wouldn’t swap him with any of our non scoring or scoring attacking players .
I want him to do well cos I feel he’s a decent enough bloke and I can live with being wrong but he’s prolly had a result with no fans in grounds cos I’m sure he’d be getting it a bit from his own .9 -
He was getting absolutely slaughtered on Twitter during the game last night. "Barely league two standard" " "utterly useless" "losing the ball for the 1093204834th time", many more.
And let's be honest, he never 'plays well.' He pops up in the box and sometimes finishes, sometimes doesn't. He has no ability to hold it up, pass, turn, link, do anything.
Now the larger question, is he so good at popping up in the box and finishing that it offsets his inability to contribute anything to the attacking phase?
Well when you've gone 8 games without a goal, and goals are your only contribution, that means you've gone 8 games and contributed precisely nothing.
You can see why the question of whether to sell him was, as TS reports it, just a 30-second conversation.

Aneke is ten times the footballer Bonne is. Yes, Bonne is probably ten times fitter but9

Personally I get no pleasure in the crap he’s getting. He was playing non league up until recently and got the chance to play in the Championship on considerably more money. That’s what turned his head, not QPR!
Was he ready? No. But good luck to him.41 -
Good luck to him sure, but apart from one game against Bristol City he brought very little except sporadic close-range finishing to our game and I can't see it working out for him this season. He can prove us all wrong but I don't think we'd particularly care either way. In fact why am I posting about him at all8

I actually wanted it to work for him because for someone to have come from non league and raised himself to being a first choice championship striker would be a great personal achievement.
As it happens that has not been the case but that's through his own decisions and while I don't bare him any malice I won't be sparing him any thoughts going forwards.4 -
QPR fans expectations seem way too high. Whilst £2 million is a huge amount of money for us as a league 1 side, it’s not a lot for an established championship side to be spending on a striker.I don’t know the QPR squad at all, but I wonder if they’ve bought him to be the main man and top striker, where as he’s better as part of a duo sharing all the expectation etc.4

He'll be on loan to a league 1 side by January1

And of course that doesn't take into account the subsequent massive profit we made on Bonne. What would we get for Aneke if we tried to sell him in January? Not a penny with his injury record.
I should stress that that's not Aneke's fault but, perhaps, people should reflect on what he has actually contributed when comparing him to Bonne. We can only hope that he is capable of breaking this vicious circle of injury because he would be consistently frightening defences in this division if he could.5 -

I’m a NO1 -

Other than that, I'm also a NO.1 -

Not 10 times the end product though.
I'm still dying on Bonne Hill. He will come good to borrow an old phrase.
People saying Washington is better, or a better finisher based on one goal yesterday are jumping the shark.
I'm glad early doors it looks like we've reinvested the Bonne money well on Gunters wages etc, but no point pretending he wouldn't be part of our current squad at the moment that is going over the top. He started over Aneke last year for a reason, they'd probably be a good partnership1 -
Would anyone take Bonne over Bogle at this moment in time?0

He's no bette than Bogle... But his finishing can be. Bonne often at least drew saves.
If we manage to shift players/bring in players and can get a new player in January then i'm a No. If we can't get anyone else, then Yes, I would welcome him back... Bowyer won't so it's a moot point.0 -
Used to quite like a night out at Bonne Bogle back in the day.3

I don't think it'll happen this season tbh but I do reckon within a couple years he'll score quite a few at the right team around championship level.
He's still a project - and was to Bowyer when he was playing in L1 (and not scoring a lot) just a few weeks ago - now QPR expect him to be free-scoring as a lone striker against Championship defences. Just can't see it happening for him this season, frankly I think we're be better off with the 2m we got for him to help the rebuild2 -
Interesting that Sandgaard said in his interview that he doesn’t fit into our ‘strategy.’ I’m not sure if he meant financially, looking further ahead, or on the pitch this season. I’m guessing the latter two and that Bowyer sees us playing one up with pacy players either side. He doesn’t see Bonne as the one up top or playing down the flanks. Therefore they took the 2 million. In the end it will prove to be a good call in my opinion.4

Washington's run and finish last night was something that Bonne could never do. Did he ever score a 1on1 for us?
I don't think Bowyer wanted him the first place, QPR fans are starting to see why.1 -

The fickleness and self-righteousness of football fans is strong in this thread.13

Washington when at QPR and Sheffield United in the Championship scored 13 goals in 107 league matches
Bonne has 12 in 37 matches in the Championship
Of course this doesn't show they're overall worth to the team, but I wouldn't go too overboard based on Bonne having a couple of bad matches and Washington scoring last night10
