Omar Bogle - gone to Newport (p31)

One way to protect Chuks from niggles perhaps, play him up top with another physical forward, rather than instead.0

He took his goal well and his team mates seemed genuinely pleased for him which suggests he is a popular player. He works very hard and Bows is right, as a fan, all I ask is a player gives everything for the shirt, and Omer does.
Personally, I think the whole team has worked extremely hard over an intense period and thought the game against the bottom club was a given. A lesson learnt and we have moved on.4 -
Was good to see Bogle get his goal and we will surely see more now
What a potential front two "Bogle and The Beast"

Bogle And The Beast, the fondly remembered private-eye series from the 1980s, starring Pierce Brosnan and Ernest Borgnine.4

He's a sensitive soul isn't he. Nothing but social media positivity and encouragement for my man Boges0

Lots were saying he did not celebrate- but look at that smile 😊 Was pleased for the lad. Richly deserved.0

I think he wanted to act all stroppy and cool and pissed-off but couldn't help a grin. Bowyer has a knack for finding these emotionally unrestrained types, doesn't he? I like it. It means we have players who really want it, which is I think the #1 criterion for a Bowyer signing. (And once Maddison gets some therapy or a girlfriend I think his inner wanting-it, that I'm sure Bowyer has detected, will be revealed too!)2
-
I think it wasn't so much he wasn't pleased that he was literally overwhelmed in the moment. We know that an unfortunate subset of "fans" have been on his back and he is after all a striker, he'll want to score.
He's come close a few times and now he's finally broken the curse hopefully a few more will follow.0 -
He was buzzing in the post-match interview.3

Inner wanting-it? What kind of talk is this, @Leuth?Leuth said:I think he wanted to act all stroppy and cool and pissed-off but couldn't help a grin. Maybe echoes of your man-love for Watson, I think.0 -
Watson is good now, I've decided. Now struggling to think of which player isn't good enough for me. They might all be good enough. How worrying6

You can't imagine the pleasure this gives me.Leuth said:Watson is good now, I've decided. Now struggling to think of which player isn't good enough for me. They might all be good enough. How worrying
Now ... when you think that they are all good enough, that's the time to raise the bar.
For my part, Shinnie has cooled a bit after his bright start, and Gilbey is a 'work in progress'.
But Maddison ... let's get on his case. He will always divide opinion.
Perfect.0 -
Oh I'll always root for Maddison. He falls into the Flawed Genius category, which has historically been my biggest weakness for any player.
Gilbey is an interesting one. He shows some potential. Like JFC before him, he may have me flipflopping between 'incisive, energetic player' and 'ineffectual headless chicken'. Let's hope more of the former.0 -
Of course, that's the answer for Mr Maddison ...... we've got to find him a girlfriend.Leuth said:I think he wanted to act all stroppy and cool and pissed-off but couldn't help a grin. I wonder if there's a female Addick or even a Lifer who'd be willing to step in and take one for the team?
If you can get Marcus happy and scoring goals, it could guarantee us promotion.
You'd be a hero.
I'm joking, of course 2 -
A bit oversensitive really considering he hadn't scored before Saturday AND got hauled off and publicly criticised by Bowyer on TuesdayLeuth said:He's a sensitive soul isn't he. Nothing but social media positivity and encouragement for my man Boges
I don't agree with posting negative comments on players' social media accounts, but I imagine it's something which all players have to deal with0 -
I suspect in Bogle's eyes there wasn't too much to wildly celebrate. He's clearly been beating himself up that he hasn't scored yet to have finally done so may just be the minimum he expects of himself. His reaction looked more one of relief than jubilation. His post match comments suggest he's felling happier for it and I really do believe we'll see a big step forward from him now. I think the work rate will go up a notch and he'll get more goals. I doubt he'll ever be more than a 1 in 4/1 in 3 kind of striker, but that could well be all we need if everyone else keeps scoring too. I'm actually happier to see how many of our midfielders are finally getting into goal scoring positions on a more regular basis - on another day Williams and Gilbey would've both been on the score sheet as well as Albie..2

Bogle liked a tweet from a Hull player, someone picked up on that, Bogle says they're friends away from football. On his performance he said "I was shit yesterday".

Wonder if he’s played enough games to trigger that second year option yet?1

Surely people have better things to do with their life than trawl through social media to see what people have 'liked' etc and then digging them out for it?Scoham said:Bogle liked a tweet from a Hull player, someone picked up on that, Bogle says they're friends away from football. Yeah he probably shouldn't have a liked an opposition tweet but I think people read way too much into these things.2 -
If you go on a twitter account there is a likes page which lists everything they've likedCroydon said:

I thought Bogle was unfairly being criticized but watching yesterday I now think he is not good enough and needs to move on.....0
-
The very fact he responds to fans on social media tells me he's profoundly insecure. Do we have a sports psychologist on call? He's obviously a decent player whose head is gone right now8
-
When a cricketer or golfer gets the yips, they are treated sympathetically. Bogle has been thrown to the hounds. Should be nowhere near the field given his state obviously but he's clearly not getting the urgent help he needs6
-
What makes you think that "he's obviously a decent player"?Leuth said:The very fact he responds to fans on social media tells me he's profoundly insecure. Do we have a sports psychologist on call? He's obviously a decent player whose head is gone right now
The guy has no idea.
He scored some goals at Grimsby in League 2 and Solihull Moors in non-League.
When people go on about Gallen and his eye for a player, I will refer them back to Bogle.
Useless. And I'm being kind.2 -
I hate slagging off players who are human beings who are 9/10 trying their best. But OB isn’t good enough IMO. Definitely not in a struggling side that doesn’t really know what it’s DNA is.He came in when we were desperate.
I hope he’s given respect if he is moved on this month.2 -
I don’t doubt there might be some mental struggles in there which would of course be adversely affecting his game but from watching him on the pitch, I just don’t know how he gets any better from here?Leuth said:The very fact he responds to fans on social media tells me he's profoundly insecure. A decent player going through a tough spell would at least have a few bright moments here and there but Omar...1 -
Worst signing Gallen has made.. Considering Cameron Jerome was available at the same time..
Bogle, is the worst forward I have seen at the club since Abbott..6
