Post-match Thread: Swindon v Charlton | Sat 19 Dec 2020

Disappointing not to have held on for the win. Bogle equalised with a scrappy, fortuitous goal. Chuks came on to put us in the lead and we looked like comfortably in control. We bossed the second half, but seemed to lose impetus as the game fizzled out. They then scored the equaliser from a corner.

Over to you.

Curbs just said it the subs brought the pressure on...will he not learn
  • We had so many chances to kill this off today. Washington rubbish. JFK poor, Maddison not digging in. Took another Ramilpril to get over watching this crap!
  • too defensive at the end and the inevitable goal against, sorry Bows poor subs again
  • Pissed off again with Bowyer unfortunately. Shit management today. We are playing SWINDON not Barcelona and he goes all defensive
  • Disappointing result.  Was there to be won and should have brought Williams on rather than Matthews to occupy Swindon especially with tired legs.

    Roll on the next one.

Missed most of the 2nd half due to the corona hysteria

Lee hasn’t learnt. That’s what most alarming for me.

Has happened time and time again and he still sets us up defensively when we take the lead.

Tactically, keeping Gilbey on for 90 minutes and not putting Faith in Williams, the guy that saved your arse last game is pathetic.

Im not Bowyer out, but this mentality won’t get us promoted. That’s when there will be questions.

Shit tactics, again. Nothing else needs to be said.

  • Its not all bad news, we are a point ahead of Accrington Stanley but they do have a game in hand.

Playing a team who I believe have lost four in a row, we finished the game in a 5-3-2 with two RBs, two LBs, one CB, two defensive midfielders (one playing CB), two strikers and a central midfielder. It's just so negative, especially for a side who looked vulnerable when we went forward. We just invite pressure onto us and all it takes is a flukey corner and two points are dropped.

    2 midfielders off
    2 defenders on

    All you need to say
  • Same shit, different Saturday against a bottom of the table side.

    Nonsense them subs today.

    Shambles.
  • No need for the defensive subs and tactics against this lot. We would've seen the game out easily if we just kept it as it was.

If anyone defends Bowyer after that then they're mad. He has cost us a lot of points this season. End of.

Why oh why don’t we learn, keep an attacking midfield on the pitch , we are not good enough defensively to invite pressure and defend a one goal advantage

Predictable, defensive subs, sit back and concede. It's been a habit for over a year now

Shit tatics, Bowyer again got it wrong, why are we going defensive when we look likely to kill the game before he goes 5 at the back

  • Said it a couple of weeks ago. Fallen well and truly out of love with Bowyer's brand of football.

We always look workmanlike, we always compete even when we lose games. But the positives stop their for me. With the quality we have the pitch, and how pedestrian Swindon were it should have looked like MK Dons against us.

    It didn't.

I expect we will still win more than we lose, but I'm not sure if I can face a season of performances like this.
  • That was utterly abysmal from Bowyer today.

nobody can defend how he has approached that one.

Getting rather predictable, not sure what's happened to Bowyer's mentality.

If you have a tactic that always fails, why do you keep repeating it? Swindon were dog shite and if we tried to get a third we would have.

We scored 5 last week and Swindon had lost their last 4 before today.

Why are we sitting back for the final 20 minutes, why are we not pushing forward to get the 3rd and kill the game off, instead we just sit back and invite 20 minutes of pressure

We are so predictable. Not for the first time you can tell how things will probably pan out in the first 10 minutes. If we don't start well we don't do well.

I know we went down early last week but it had a different feel to it.
  • Lee Bowyer is not the guy to take us forward people he will stall the momentum that Thomas has brought to the club. This level of tactical negativity is so boring and also is beginning to look very predictable.

Yes, Lee is a bit thick, but what sort of wanker includes Charlton in all of their weekend’s accas?

Should have won that comfortably, those defensive substitutions have cost us today and blown a good opportunity to gain a bit of ground on the play offs.

That ones on Bowyer and he needs to be grown up enough to admit that and not throw anyone else under the bus
